All Purpose Map Suggestion: Spawn Protection that works.

Please implement some kind of spawn protection! The last thing I need is Zups camping behind me when i spawn having a mine ready at my feet!

Make it some kind of impassable wall for the opposite team or some kind of “Turn back in 10 seconds”.

As much as I can appreciate that if a team can’t push out of spawn, it’s probably there own fault, this is more of a “I don’t need people stood behind me when i spawn” thing than anything.

This enables you to keep a spawn trap, in a way, but stop people actually sitting in spawn!

spawn protection for several seconds unless you shoot or interact?

It would be better to block access to the opposing team’s spawn area, as unfortunately some people can be quite ‘unsporty’.

The only problem I see is when taking the objective through the enemy spawn can be beneficial. A weak example of this would be the final defenders spawn on Trainyard (weak example because you actually pass in front of the spawn and don’t really have to go through it, but hopefully you get the point). Another example would be when in W:ET on Radar the Allies take the radar parts the long route while an Axis player rushes through the Allied spawn to intercept the objective carrier.

You could add some weak turrets to the spawn areas to make sure the enemy can at least pass through it without getting killed but disable them from camping there.

There already is a spawn shield but you can’t make it high enough to avoid a player from waiting until it fades before shooting you in your ass with a shotgun.

Funny that you mention it, I have a small idea and will be posting it soon in the relevant forum section.

Trainyard is one of the main offenders for it, as its so easy to get in and so much space behind where you actually spawn.
