You need a texture that is correlated to a sky shader. More on shaders here> http://shaderlab.com/q3map2/shader_manual/contents.html
Here are a few of the default skies:
textures/fueldump/fueldumpsky
textures/skies/sd_batterysky
textures/skies/sd_wurzburgsky
And you have to generate a valid tracemap to make the airstrikes work properly…
I thought that was only needed for mortar and snow/rain, but it doesn’t hurt.

oops… i thought so, because once i had some strange effects with airstrikes in a map without a tracemap… but maybe it was a side effect caused by something else…
