Aimpunch is different in CSGO. CSGO is a tactical FPS. DB isnt. And AWPing in CSGO isnt as headshot dependent
I simply made a connection between DB and CSGO in that both games have aimpunch. AWPing in csgo is nothing like the sniping in DB. The scout, if anything, is similar.

No, it was him. It just takes more than a flick to impress a Global Elite.

So, what’s your IGN exactly? I don’t recall playing against a’steelSwordfish’. I guess I need to play more passively then and use more angles. Keep in mind, most of these maps don’t have the best angles to snipe from. I agree with you though, to an extent.

No, swordfish isnt my IGN. I’m going to keep that a mystery
I call everyone a clown so its nothing offensive. Try playing ‘off’ angles (aka dumb angles because make no sense). Aim at head level and give yourself room to react, this usually results in a easy head shot because they don’t expect you there which gives them no time to react. Anything in the game can be an angle, a corner, a wall, a window, a bush. Simply let the enemy come to you by a few degrees.
^Not the same game but the fundamentals are there, I’m sure this will reduce your frustration with aimpunch.

I don’t think losing/limiting control of mouse movement
Aimpunch does not limit your mouse control genius, that’s solely on you lol
And why does everyone think that the things they see as bad in a game only affect them?
The aimpunch affects enemy snipers as well.
It’s not a bug.
It’s not a broken mechanic.
It’s part of the game.
Deal with it and adapt. Not all games are the same, believe it or not you may have to learn new concepts in a new game bud.
Oh, and… Did you forget force buys as a CT? you know, where head armor doesn’t matter? Yeahhhhhh…
Rofl, what? I’m pretty sure I don’t jerk my mouse upwards every time I’m shot at.
What do CT force buys have to do with anything?? You’re trying so hard to act like you know what you are talking about it’s ridiculous. I’m not gonna lie, I legit laughed when you posted the adren crosshair placement video and the “It just takes more than a flick to impress a Global Elite” comment, because I thought you were trolling.

I don’t get it, of course you would challenge a sniper at a distance it’s a video game. Or is that unrealistic? But taking a bullet and not flinching is fine, of course!
You want realism in one aspect but not another, make up your mind.
Great point, because the characters in other shooters totting sniper rifles specialize in close quarters combat don’t they? What a straw man argument. I should’t really even need this but you are an extra kind of special.
From the Dirty Bomb website, Vassili character description:
Long-range sniper, great for defending open areas/objectives, but vulnerable up close. Keep him back from the frontline, so he can dominate open areas and long corridors.

Because people always see each other at the same time? I guess no one gets caught off guard in DB. Either way, aim punch definitely does not reward people that can aim.
So if GO requires less accuracy but still does not have aim punch(w/ armor), does it really make a sense that a game that requires more precision, has it?
Basically, you say you don’t want aimpunch.
I say just be glad there isn’t as much sway as in COD or BF. It’s fine as is.
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory also had aimpunch for snipers (and if you had binoculars on), and no one whined there. If you don’t want to get aimpunched, don’t get hit. Easy solution, no need to change it.
This is accurate.
As i said before, you just need to play sneaky like a real sniper is all. You tend to rambo close range sniper it. I do this too in other games, and you can get away with it with vassili too esp with his side arm. But remember, simple tactics work on lower tier players. The fact is, you are answering your own problem- lower level tactics dont work on smart players or seasoned players.
Yeah let’s give the medium hp, medium speed, long range instagib(cant rez), machine pistol side arm with wall hacks an easier time, dis is great idea and not bias, v gud.
Also there is this great game called quake live and in this game they have a mode called instagib fast rails that you would really enjoy.

Every post on this forum is biased lol.
its that aim punch really only affects scoped in sniper rifles and sometimes DMRs(redeye and artys semiauto) atm aim punch in this game is balance design vs "snipers

Don’t forget sniper survive knife in the back, all makes sense
Whilst you’re at the Wolfenstein: ET comparison. Lets give snipers 10ammo mag and let recoil shoot up 90 degrees
I’m really surprised so many people think aimpunch only affects snipers. After playing around with vassili for a while (normally I use fragger, sawbonez, and aura) I’d say aimpunch affects me less as a sniper than it does as someone using a full auto gun. The reason is because as a sniper, I can quick peak or prefire a player before they ever have a chance to shoot me.
As a player using an smg, AR, or LMG however, I have to consistently aim for the head and every time I get hit by the enemy, my shots fly over my target’s head. When playing against players with decent aim, it’s almost better to start aiming for the body once you start getting shot at and I think we can all agree that a mechanic that makes going for body shots more rewarding than going for headshots is not something that should be in a competitive shooter.
Not sure I agree @ChinaRep
Auto’s have vertical recoil; so you have to pull down your aim to keep it at head level when shooting. When being shot at you just pull it down a little more.

Yeah, I know full auto weapons have vertical recoil. If you’re a decent player and you’re aiming for the head and controlling the vertical recoil so that your shots are consistently hitting the head, you start to miss as soon as you get shot if the player is more than 20-30 m away because of the aim punch.
Your advice for dealing with aim punch as someone using a full auto gun is exactly what I said is the problem: aim for the body instead of the head. Why should we be rewarding players for taking the easy shot instead of the hard one?
I am totally fine without any aimpunch whatsoever, I only argue that its more punishing for snipers (and any ADS character)

That’s not a problem, though. If you can’t predict how to aim, well, best stop playing FPS.
It’s fairly easy to hit the head more or less.
