Aimpunch Changes in Melee Mayhem?

I would have posted this in the Melee Mayhem thread, but I felt like this needed more publicity.

I saw this on the DB reddit and I decided to post it here because I didn’t see a thread about it yet. Apparently they altered the view kick quite significantly? I cannot confirm now cause I won’t get the chance to play today, but this seems like a pretty big change.

Personally, I wasn’t too concerned about aimpunch, but I am really curious to see how this affects gameplay. Can anyone confirm how it’s like in-game?

I don’t think these poor souls understand how tiny of a difference 33% and 66% are in relation to the amount of current viewkick

I doubt anyone will actually notice a difference lmao

Maybe if the viewkick was like half your entire screen it would be noticeable, but since the viewkick is only a few millimeters at most, I mean… congrats, you’ve earned a half millimeter of less viewkick

Interesting, that’s a good point. I never really thought about that.

So is it pretty much that viewkick will always have an effect unless its completely removed? Or is it that viewkick in general is pretty inconsequential?

I’ll take this reduction, see how my matches fair out going forward. On that note though, I do like the update generally speaking. I have chances to get weapon keys now, as opposed to before where I had no chance at all - without paying anyway.

The former

The initial fix didn’t actually change the amount of viewkick that we see. It just stopped the viewkick from climbing. So if you pulled your mouse down while firing, then you basically ended up with the same viewkick we had before this update

People just like complaining about shit

And SD put this little ditty in because it looks like a huge change but I mean, I bet you could put a side by side comparison video of the old and new viewkick and not even see a difference. Maybe a tiny difference after you watch it a few times.

But people will swear up and down that this is a night and day change. Promise you that
