Aiming, Recoil and Spread

In my opinion hipfire is better than iron sights. While aiming down sights u can see less and the camara moves on the same speed while hipfiring.

There is almost no recoil.

Hipfire and spread, i dont see and spread in this game. Shouldnt there be way more spread when hipfiring?

You can test yourself by firing at a wall and looking at the spread patterns.

If you don’t feel any spread then surely that’s a good thing though.

It’s nice to have a game where hipfire is a viable way to play depending on your preferred playstyle.

When you think about recoil and spread you have to consider movespeed and the health relative to avg bullet damage. You take those variables and try to find a good place to put em so it’s within the spirit of rtcw, etqw, et, etc. Granted I haven’t played an RTCW-like game in a LONG time and when I did I wasn’t very hardcore about it, so I can’t speak to the similarities/differences in TTK, but I think the spirit of those games is captured in large part in DB.

As such hipfire ought and will be your dominant mode of firing as it allows you the most mobility with a good level of precision. ADS in this game, unlock most other games that have ADS mechanic, is VERY situational (exception being snipers/Arty to some extent). I find that I only ADS if I’m shooting at someone who doesn’t know where I am (if he returns fire I immediately go into hipfire and dodge), or the enemy is very far away and I feel I can out-aim/dmg them. I’ll also ADS in suicide situations where I really need to max DPS before I die–like taking out a mounted machine gun gunner or an aura healing station nest.
