Aiming Down Sight

If there are going to be perks in the game for ADSing then there needs to be a whole lot more advantage for it. At the moment, unless you are firing at long range there does not seem to be much of any advantage to going all hip fire rock-n-roll. Anything I’m missing about it?

Working as intended. Dirty Bomb’s faster paced, quirky combat is focused on hip fire. Really the only people that should be using ADS are Vass, Red, Arty and Kira.

I believe ADS isn’t meant to be extremely useful (Except for sniper rifles). And the augment focus applies to hipfiring as well afaik.

Reduces flinching when hit while iron sighting or scoped by 50%

ADS 100% removes spread/blooming and gives you a slight zoom. Drawbacks is you loose mobility and get more vertical recoil.

In a fastpaced shooter like DB, that lost mobility, will quite often be fatal. Especially in CQC and thats the way it is intended (The intro vid states as much, hipfire first, ADS maybe on longrange/flanking).

That said ADS can be useful some weapons perform better in ADS (Snipers, Dreiss, Grandeur), Its also sometimes a good strategy to switch to ADS midfight when your gun lost too much accuracy to get the last 2-3 shots into the target. Or if an enemy hasn’t spotted you to get very reliable first shots.

In the end it really depends people coming from games that use ADS. Are propably using ADS more often and to great effect (tho there is always the posibility to overuse it). While likewise players coming from arena shooters without ADS will bank on movement and fairly accurate hipfire to win the fights. Either can work.

You forgot to mention Sparks. How many times has my trusty REVIVR gun sniped some Vassilies? Stopped counting…

ADS is far more powerful than people give it credit for, it’s just about using it in the right situations.
Last I checked, focus augment also affected hipfiring, but I don’t know if there’s been changes to that, since then.

He also forgot to mention Fragger and his LMG. Helps to ADS with that.

This. I used to hate on it when I was newer since it didn’t appear to do much and since I come from Quake and thought the game was quite similar that supported it.

But ADS actually does have a place and the people that utilise it efficiently will consistently outshoot people that don’t.

Speaking of ADS, do any of Redeye’s loadouts have Quick Eye on them? I don’t think I’ve seen it once.

Yup. You have to use ADS intelligently in this game and it makes the difference in fights a lot of times. Using ADS to get a quick laser kill when there is little chance of you being shot or switching to ADS to get those last 2 or 3 shots in makes you win fights where people who don’t do that are literally rolling the dice.

I love how ADS is employed in this game as it is definitely useful but more useful on some guns than others and the timing of using it is extremely key to raising your own skill level.

They do not, unfortunately.
