Aimee? Turtle? What made you stay in DirtyBomb beside these two.

(jollyRacer) #1

Besides waiting for Aimee since the first week I got introduced to Dirty bomb, what made me stay in this game was being on the defense for the last objective on Bridge.

It’s intense as f and it still holds true today if the teams are balanced (when I say balance, doesn’t mean when your team loses, its inbalanced. Just the general skill level of the two teams has to be somewhat equal.)

I really felt sheer, raw excitement and tension when we were defending the objective. You can see Aura’s medic station inside the vault, maybe an ammo station or ammo packs littered on the ground. With a rhino guarding one entrance and an Assault rifle merc guarding the main entrance. Proxy mines placed at strategic positions, maybe even a stoker to deny ground.

I truly believe I felt what SD wanted to create, came to fruition. Everyone was working together and it felt like we’re protecting something important and in order to do that, everyone must work together - doing their roles and covering each other.

Its not like EV maps where you just have players trying to kill others and your main strategy is to have a medic with an engineer on the EV to keep it moving/repaired. Or execution maps where certain mercs are naturally more disadvantaged over others.

I definitely would like to see more maps like the last objective on Bridge. You get to showcase every single merc’s ability. Kira’s laser/Arty for when things go bad when they’re delivering.

That kind of experience is unique to DirtyBomb and even CS can’t take it away from you guys.

P.s. I still want that Merc name release badly.

I like the gameplay. That keeps me playing the game, and not some unreleased merc I’m waiting for who can end up being boring as hell.

(SaulWolfden) #3

The only merc I was overly excited for when I was first playing was Red Eye, lived up to all the hype for me as my third most played Merc. I’d be playing presently if the game wouldn’t crash every 10 minutes all of a sudden on me because I like the focus on the objectives that most shooters seem to ignore.

(Mc1412013) #4

The only fps I can play that I only 50% suck at

(Potato_Ladder) #5

The gameplay and art style.

(watsyurdeal) #6

The gameplay, absolutely. Nothing else feels as good to play right now.

(DarkSage) #7

It’s the only f2p fps on the market that has a refreshing take on the gameplay.

And I love objective games

(LifeupOmega) #8

The game at its core, and without some of the annoying bullshit mercs, is fantastic - I usually only play if its with friends.

(Backuplight) #9

Gameplay is what keeps me playing - or rather, keeps me coming back, I guess. I do wish we’d had a more interesting alternative game mode than Execution, but Objective and/or Stopwatch are fine for now.

There is nothing like Fletcher in other games. Some people try to say “Hey this game has Sticky Bombs”, but it’s just not the same. It just isn’t.

(SereneFlight) #11

The fun fun fast multi-objective shoottery shooty shoot bang bang gameplay is what keeps me sticking around (+ the fact that there’s not many shoottery shooty shoots that do this multi-objective shenanigans… thanks for ruining pvp FPS for me, ET! lol).
Turtle? Aimee. Don’t really care about them… but what I do want is maps, maps and more maps (not Execution maps tho… SD can shove Execution back where it came from) and BASE RACCCEEEE!!!… and of course, criticizing SD how you have to give your money for basic convenience like being able to buy multiple cases in 2016.

(onLooSe) #12

Well… those in DB are nothing compared to these, before they got nerfed a bit of course:

On topic - I’m here only for the fast paced gameplay and “we won’t hold your hand” concept. However, I almost don’t play recently, because of all the dumbing down stuff they did/are doing, etc. and the game has tons of bugs and unnecessary side stuff they prioritize in the little time they have.

(CCP115) #13

I actually came because I’m a cheap kiddo who was gettting a little tired of TF2.

I had a lot of interest because SD and my brothers love for Wolf:ET.

I stayed because the game was fun, even playing the same maps and mercs over and over. It’s gameplay is solid and unique. Yea the cosmetics are nonexistent, the microtransactions are terrible, there are bugs and the maps have hooks on every corner, but you just can’t deny how solid the gameplay is.

This, and the core gameplay is incredible, along with the constant drive to improve. I haven’t played in a bit, but now I’m back to master the Grandeur!

(OatmealFox) #15

Quite simply it’s a fun, original, and rewarding game; that’s why I keep playing.

(Tanker_Ray) #16

AHH!! THUNDAAA!!!

(Yoma) #17

The balance.

(BananaSlug) #18

both of them suck and i am almost sure [looking at thunder, phantom] that they wont balance them well. well db isnt on SD list on 1st place

(The_Enema_Bandit) #19

None of those two have anything to do with me playing the game.
The main reasons for me to play DB are boredom, a lot of free time and bad weather. Gunplay is fine too, not many shooters have what I like.

While I may poke at SD for the lack of content, I’d much much much much much rather get 2-3 new maps than these two, as I think that’s where the longevity of the game is. I’m totally happy with the mercs we’ve got now, I certainly can’t play them all brilliantly so there’s plenty for me to try and learn, and I’ve got a ton to learn and optimise about my playstyle overall. That and this game is fucking fun, one of the best FPS games I’ve played in at least a decade.
