Aimee : Minibuff ideas for Snitch

(Brycko) #1

I can’t help but notice that, of the 3 snipers in the game, Aimee has arguably one of the weakest spotting abilities.

The Snitch is pretty slow, generally has a small range, and though it does debilitate people, it usually gets spotted and destroyed soon after.

Anyway, those gripes aside, I propose a small buff; letting the Snitch spot and debilitate enemies as it flies through the air. It can still be shot down pretty quickly, and the debilitation affect on lasts like 6 seconds before it needs to be renewed (which can’t happen if the Snitch is destroyed or sent out of range), but it could be enough to make it a better support ability, especially if a team is especially hard to crack at a certain point.

An additional idea would be the ability to call back the Snitch at any point. Paired with the above buff, it could take teams from behind. Result would be longer cooldown for the Snitch if it gets destroyed.

A final idea would be a way to control when it spots/debilitates people. That way it could be planted, and then be activated when the Aimee is ready to snipe, instead of it being useless and picked off when you have to take cover from the other team.

As an Aimee is one of my fav mercs, I have a secret hidden love for the Snitch. It was the closest thing we had to a starwar-esque droid in DB, and was really personified in comics. So it kinda downs me when it gets destroyed in game like the other deployables. I hope it gets more in-game personification at some point.

ability to control when to spot and ability to call back sounds really good.

i fully agree with what you said, i always destroy any SNITCH i encounter immediately, these changes would definitely make her better

I just hate replacing it every 25 seconds. Oh and Auras, pls nerf Aura.
And it sucks that you only get 20 assist xp if a debuffed enemy dies while not being spotted. It would be better if they added +100 debuff assist xp but reduce her spotted assist xp to +30 or so.

Manually activating it seems kinda pointless to me because you want it to be activated 90% of the times.

Calling back seems nice, but since making it teleport will be weird they will have to make it fly back to you. And navigating might take some time to code so they will have to force it to be in your los so it can fly in a straight line and it might still cause glitches. But overall it looks like a nice idea if Splash Damage can make it without a lot of glitches and not wasting a lot of time and delaying Turtle.

I have a proposal:

1: Split Aimee’s abilities.
2: Give her camera more than Bushwkacher’s Turret HP.
3: Give Aimee shotguns.
4: Make her non-spotting ability turn her weapons into better versions of most primary weapons.

Now Aimee is a LoS DPS class that has the ability to spot enemies.

That sounds like a completely new class rather than a buff/nerf to Aimee.
Idk how well it will work, but it could be a nice engineer class

Doesn’t count as an engineer since there’s no objective specialist.

Just add a “Surrender” ability to Aimee, it matches her nationality.
