Aimee class

(Random Joe) #1

Is Aimee a Sniper class or not?

(Nail) #2

yes

(Reddeadcap) #3

Yes, Aimee, Vasilli, Redeye and Phantom are Recon classes.

(einstyle) #4

Phantom? How so?

(Gi.Am) #5

don’t think of the recon class as Snipers. Think of them as Assassins.

They take out high value Targets and their skills revolve around visibility (for themself their team or reducing it for the other team).

(Runeforce) #6

In ‘enemy territory’ jargon their class archetype is categorized as covert ops.

Like in,
‘hey SD & Nexon, you think it’s about time we get another covert ops into the merc pool?’

meh, I still think they’re far to different to be lumped together

(Szakalot) #8

guess the unifying factor is the ability to ‘spot’ for other teammates, though I don’t know how phantom operates in that regard.

(Gi.Am) #9

Recon, Covert Ops, Assassin 3 names for the same thing (sometimes also called scouts).
Quickly killing without being seen.
Hit and Run tactics. Slow weapons that deal huge amount of damage instantly.
revolving around a theme of vision.

  • Aimee / Vassili straight up snipers, stay out of sight kill from a far give increased vision to your team
  • Red eye midrange, slow firing high damage Battlerifle, decreases the vision of the enemy
  • Phantom close range (instant death?) melee with a charge has invisibility to get trough the frontline unseen or escape after his hit

I think they fit very well in the same category just that some of them prefer to get more personal than others

(Nail) #10

Aimee is best

and another thing what do her motion sensors do?

(Nail) #12

it was a camera, you could place it and watch from afar, splode it too

(Random Joe) #13

That’s cool

(Jaso) #14

i would love to have merc like good old Covy in ET with satchel charge (no need to wait so long to blow barrier generators or so)

(Szakalot) #15

Fletcher’s stickies work like a more powerful version of the satchel.

They have a general role, some even swap out one aspect for another.

Assaults for instance, Fragger has a more than generous health pool, a light machinegun and two hand grenades to blow up his enemies, Nader lacks health and assault rifles/lmgs, instead uses an smg but makes up for a more explosives, Rhino lacks these too, instead using shotguns, he lacks explosives but uses a minigun and Thunder has a bit more health than Fragger and has a wider AOE stunning grenades, and I believe he’ll have two lmgs and the AR15.

Vas and Aimee both pretty much are spotters and long range snipers, Redeye spots, but also blinds enemies with smoke grenades, using a battle rifle and Phantom tosses detection out the window in favor of being invisible.

(einstyle) #17

I’m fine with your classification, but I still don’t think Phantom fits in there with Aimee/Vasline/RedEye. Just like I don’t really see Rhino being too similar to other aussault classes. But maybe that’s just me.

(Daergar) #18

Pretty sure it’s just you.

Nah, but covert ops wraps the four nice and snug for the reasons listed above. Flip it around and ask yourself what class Phantom or Rhino would be otherwise.

Phantom and Rhino are the hipsters of DB, forming their very own niche category, at least in my imaginary world

(Parmenion) #20

Rhino Will be a real solid frontline, he can’t be sniped (one shot) vassili deal 158dmg MAX. In TF2 the heavy can be OS by 1 charged shot.

Same for thunder if he is full life, he will survive with 2hp.
