Aimbots the truth and a reasoned discussion.

I simply spot the lazy cheaters. You know, the ones that kill four guys with headshots in each direction in the span of two seconds, or the Rhino that shotguns/miniguns across trainyard.

The subtle ones, well, not even seen any of those or at best been good enough to outplay them without noticing.

(Ghosthree3) #22

The subtle ones are so much worse than the obvious ones to be honest. They never push it beyond the belief that they’re just a good player, so they don’t really ruin the game so to say. But they’re performing in a way they don’t deserve and outshining players that are probably better than them. Some of those people might not be the best but have tried hard to be a good player, and they just get outdone by people that don’t deserve the attention at all.

That’s the worst part imo, at least the obvious ones are easy bans and no one respects them.

(MissMurder) #23

Appreciate everyone continuing to report players to Customer Support even though it’s not an in-game function yet. I know it’s a pain and it’s something we are really working on.

(pnellesen) #24

You can still see the snapping and locking, though, so it’s not completely useless

(avidCow) #25

@MissMurder
It would be easier to report with more concrete evidence if the demo system was working properly. I don’t have the specs for recording video and my upload speed is abysmal.

Who knows, maybe devs can actually use the demos on their side? Something worth looking at.

(flipTusk) #26

So far I’ve honestly only seen one blatant aimbot, In this game. 3 aimbotters in the last 4 years of MP gaming (the other two were in a BF4 tdm match).

So yeah, I always take hackusations with a large pinch of salt.

(god1) #27

Well at least there’s a positive side to this as the cheaters seem to play ranked almost exclusively so you can avoid most of them by just simply not playing the mode.

(KayDubz) #28

Ive seen 3 hackers today…maybe saw 1 before the game went public.

I think some of you are underestimating how much more often this is happening. Id say thats about 25% of the matches I played today had hackers.

And now these guys are using East Asian characters so people cannot easily remember their names…and these lettering show up as boxes once the match starts. Apparently the menus inside the matches cannot recreate Chinese or Japanese lettering.

Looks like Im going to have to start doing a bunch of screen caps. Hopefully Nexon gets a handle on this. And hopefully soon there is an in-game reporting system.

Yep, People are underestimating the amount of hackers in this game. I have seen a steady rise since i started playing and I just started about a week ago. I also saw 3 hackers today. I tredged through combat arms for a couple years and it started the same way this game did. If hackers are not top priorty for these devs then the game is going to become just as hack infested as CA is now. You cant join a game of CA without running into multiple hackers on each game; and to think that there are many people out there who think that this game is just full of hackusators who are whining too much. Mark my words the hackers are out there and its going to get way way way way way worse before it gets better unless Nexon and these devs actually place hacking as a top priority.

Join a game of Combat arms (another Nexon game) and then try and maintain that line of thinking. People with attitudes like yours will be the bane of legitimacy in this game.

Then you’ve been incredibly lucky. I’ve seen at least ten blatant aimbotters in DB alone, and who knows how may clever ones.

We simply need an in-game report function to deal with the obvious stuff. I mean if the session log contains one player doing fifty headshot-kills, five within two seconds repeatedly, I’d assume it does not take long to ban him.

Recordings and such for the more subtle bastards.

Just please, pretty please, with little eggs of death on top, make the bans matter. Not banning their steam account or something equally impotent.

Otherwise, in order to understand, I’d’ve to see some numbers to convince me that redeemed cheaters spend money in f2p games.

(JohnzBallad) #32

50 hours and I never even saw a hacker. What’s wrong with me? oh gosh.

(SchwaD) #33

110 hours and also never saw a cheater. By one or two players I wasn’t sure if they are hacking or just damn good, but couldn’t say it for sure.

I can’t count anymore on one hand how often I got “caught” by some newbies…

Yesterday in a MM one told me I am preshooting and I must have a wallhack… sure.

There are for sure cheaters and we have to do fast something against it. But most of the “cheaters” are just players much better than the average called skill and experience.

(Dirmagnos) #34

Average hs rate for a good player is in range of 40%, for an average its around 30%. everything else is bs.
Considering that average human reaction speed is about .25 seconds and people in game are constantly movign around, scoring high amount of headshots, without “extra” help, is physically impossible.
And pls dont give all that bs about “pro CS players”. Those things are unrelated.

(elegantRoyalty) #35

I am not , maybe there are just less in my region EU, but i still to this day have only seen the one. it has become common for accusations though. i even picked one up , me and im shite! ok 20 years ago it was common but i was frankly damn good back then , but im 42 now. the reflexes are dulled the hand eye co-orrdination is a shadow of what it was and the old brain just doesn’t put it together like it used to. but because i got to park my rhino on defense in a good spot for a rhino and had a pet aura just feeding me health the whole game that is enough to make me a bot.

and if people like me are being accused anyone having a half decent game is. like i said in OP hacking spreads a fear and paranoia like no other cause of a bad game and were just seeing that fear spread with no actual evidence of this mass bot invasion.

im not saying they dont exist and im not saying it shouldn’t be a priority to stop them , i just would like for us to behave in a way that is proportional and actually helps the situation rather than just fanning the flames.

(Glot) #36

MissMurder, is there any statistics on how many banned cheaters out there?

(DMaster2) #37

The 48/0 on stopwatch i saw yesterday count as hacker right?

(cannyIbis) #38

I’m near the 100 hour mark and I haven’t seen a hacker. People call me a hacker a lot, but they are lower ranks. They fail to realise that the reason I pre-fire a corner is that it’s a common place for an enemy to camp or rush right out of spawn and I keep track of the spawn times. Also aiming high is going to give you a headshot 90% of the time. If you watch dirty cup that’s what people do. I average like 35 kills and less than 10 deaths and people call me a hacker for that. Score isn’t evidence of hacking, pre-firing the most common camp spots isn’t evidence, and so on. If you see people twitching, or following a player through a wall that is evidence.

(Ghosthree3) #39

Nope.

(ThatRandomGuy) #40

I get called hacker atleast 3-4 times a day but do i care? NO HELL NO!

Believe me i dont even get any of those epic scores, i get below avg scores compared to real pros. But the reason why i get called hacker is because of my tracking skill. If you are not camping on HP regen station and i see you , YOU ARE DEAD !

About 40hrs since last 5 days, i havnt seen even one hacker (or maybe hackers were pretty bad?!)
