Aim punch

With the removal of aim punch the game mechanics have changed a lot, It is very easy to use guns like the driess ar and blishlok. Now you don’t need to be that good with accuracy in a fire fight just hover your cross hair on to the enemy and spray away no real punishment. This game has come down to merc comp; because it requires less skill/aiming and more about the abilities your merc offers. Before you had to be able to deal with aim punch and still maintain accuracy now its just too easy with high rate of fire weapons and with weapons that suffered from aim punch. Before like the driess ar and blishlok its rather easy to headshot people with these weapons or spray the body with while taking fire yourself. With game being plagued with new players complaining about certain mechanics that the rest of us have mastered caused this game to have no real difference in skill instead its a mesh of all skill levels playing at the same level ruining the intention of competitiveness.

Pretty much what is happening to this game.

Um? Aim punch wasn’t removed. It was just changed in the last patch, then reverted(ish) because it changed in a bad way, and people called for it to be put back the way it was. Aim punch has always been there and probably will always be in DB. Just they went overboard with it for the last patch which most people found the shaking too extreme.

It’s still there too, but not as ridiculous as it had been changed to. It’s better again now, though a lot of people still would like to see it removed completely.

It didn’t stay as extreme as it was for long either… two weeks? Maybe less. Soooo…

I’m worried too, another free to play that is pretty well known, Warframe, is kinda dying too due to all the farming in that game and lack of variety, but I dunno if the next update brings that game back to life. I remember back near 2 years ago I joined that game, there was a lot of bugs but the community was still nice which is one of the things that surprise me. I have never seen a community that nice.
I do understand Dirty Bomb is a FPS game and there will be toxic players at time and bugs appear and could mess up a lot of the teamwork process, but we will need to wait and see. It has only been 1 month into Open Beta.

No, quite on the contrary. High aimpunch promotes scrubs that “don’t need to be that good with accuracy in a fire fight”, they just need to “hover their crosshair on to the enemy and spray away” while the player who is under fire has his crosshair pushed up in random directions and he can’t land headshots consistently despite the fact that he was very good at aiming.

Anyway, the vast majority didn’t like high aimpunch. It has no place in a fast-paced shooter which is supposed to be competitive and wherein headshooting plays an important role. The vast majority agreed on that matter both on the forum and on the reddit.

Aimpunch, aka flinch, is used in games as another way to balance weapons and to raise/lower the skill ceiling. Flinch wasn’t removed in the last patch. It is quite clearly still there as it has always been there in the game. It was just reduced a bit as it got more severe the patch before last which some people took issue with.

I hardly notice it when im playing now. Guns like the blishlok are easy killings before if you tried using that smg on anyone you would most likely miss a few shots and vice versa if you hit someone with it. But now I can hit non stop with it usually land a whole bunch of head shots that do a lot of damage for an smg that suppose to be one of the harder but yet more rewarding guns on this game. Same thing for the driess I can hit over and over and the flinch wont do anything to my cross hair and still pretty much stay where I want it to be. Aim punch or flinch needs to be higher to balance those guns or its just too easy.
