Agents of Change: Impressions, Problems and Suggestions

There is scaffolding you can set your turrets up on and it’ll get them before they see them. In the particular room you’re talking about

Actually, I liked old container city a lot more than the new one. It was unbalanced, making winning a tough challange that FORCED metagame.

Right before the patch notes i was considering posting my idea of having one sniper at the end of the ally after the bomb spot. This would let you force enemies into cover.

Post reviews when it’s been on PC for more than a few hours. Nobody knows these maps at all, you can’t judge gameplay atm.

Uav glitch? Has anyone else experienced a glitch where you could shoot your gun with the uav? I was messing about with it against bots just to look at it and either my computer had a glitch or the game did where when I left clicked it made the sound of my gerund firing as well as the muzzle flash and did reloads. Whether it actually would of hurt anything or not I do not know it got shot down before I could try. I have no idea how it happened and didn’t see it happen again…

how do i fly up and down with the uav flyer drone? jump, sprint doesnt work, mouse only lets me change the horizontal axis.

(Swolenator) #66

I tried every key I have none worked only way i got it to go up was fly at a low ledge level with it and it may fly up over it.

Have to disagree with you here Jess and agree with what he was saying about the design being at fault. If you have a defending team on high ground and they are getting killed on that high ground how can you ever hope to reach that fallen enemy, under fire, from low ground and then disguise without being spotted?

Additionally even if by some miracle you do, Brink as a game generally doesn’t really allow a single player to bring down an entire team so what little damage you can cause is overshadowed by the fact the defending team just re-spawns (more often then not right next to their defending objective), by which time your usually dead.

(Nexolate) #68

You can’t, it’s fixed at a certain height. Brink’s maps aren’t the kind that would reasonably permit that kind of freedom (compare to Bad Company 2’s maps, for example).

I haven’t gotten around to playing the maps on a server yet but I have been playing them locally to get pics for Brink Wikia. Do you still not have them yet?

… no, still no maps … I have the abilities and all the character stuff, but no maps … restarted Steam already, but still the same … can’t find any server with the maps running too … there are plenty full servers atm , but the ping times are pretty high >150ms … I downloaded the DLC around 3 hours ago, so it should be the right version …

That’s odd. When I first got the DLC, I had the same issues you did. Then after a little while (not more than 30 mins) Steam started updating Brink. After that I had the maps installed.

Not sure what to suggest if you’ve already restarted Steam. Perhaps the ClientRegistry.blob fix might help? Not sure. If in doubt, just leave it for a bit and hopefully it’ll start downloading later.

If it shows up in Brink’s DLC tab (right-click Brink in Library and select “View Downloadable Content”) then you shouldn’t ever be forced to purchase it again.

Nexo

… I have verified the game cache files again and now Steam is downloading the DLC again …

… I had only this 30mb update yesterday / last night, but no further updates today …

… I will wait for the re-download and if it’s still not working, then I will try your tip with the “ClientRegistry.blob fix” … Thx for the info ! …

I don’t think this is a fair comment. The level design in Brink has its strengths and its weaknesses, and personal preference for a particular aspect will largely define how you feel about the maps overall.

Just saying, this is yet another case where opposite views are both valid, and it’s no reason to be impolite.

(TONSCHUH) #76

… I can finally see the maps …

… will give a feedback maybe on the weekend … :stroggbanana:

Edit:

… played the first additional map in campaign mode on the resistance side and I’m impressed …

… really nice graphics ! … the fps - rate is back to normal … I get with my 2600k @ 4.6GHz + GTX570-OC and everything maxed out @ 1920x1080 + VSync turned off = ~ 75fps …

… the sound (voices within the match) got massive improved … will test / play more the next few days and will give further feedback … Thx! @SD so far for the DLC / Updates … keep up the good work ! …

… if the rest of the DLC has around the same quality, then I will look forward for further upcoming DLC’s + updates ! …

The sad part is we dont know if they will be making anymore dlc after all this mess… I surely hope so because while you have the ones saying this is dead i have never seen more people playing in standard and i have had this since launch…if you strike Brink down it will become more powerful than you could imagine lol

Wait i just thought about it and man do i feel stupid.
If they are gonna charge for the dlc after 2 weeks they should be working on more…if not we have a problem

(Jess Alon) #78

The design in labs is ok… though the enemy has high ground you can still nade and charge in with SMG toting lights to finish them off as they get up.

The ledges inside are narrow so any semi cooked nade that lands next to you will get blown away. And there’s a point where they can’t see you on the ramps and you can toss nades at them. Also if you rush up the ramp on the right and clear that one you can look to your left through the scaffolding to take out campers on the left ramp.

You just can’t panic or you will get spawn camped.

Also if people are camping you you can sprint a light operative to signs on either side and land behind campers… then go crazy with a tampa and blow yourself up the second you die. Combine this with a full zerg effort and you’re in.

Defenders also have to watch TWO doors that you can blow.

Yeah true, I was a bit drunk when I posted that and got carried away

But I know for a fact (not opinion ;)) that there isn’t one bad map in Brink and… well to a seasoned gamer and mapper, SD know how to design maps properly. Take it or leave it

Loving the new maps (:
Thanks Splash Damage!

If we could get a editor/sdk or a few more maps later on this game would be perfect for me personally (:
Maps work fine for me on pc version
