Admining VOIP on servers

(togsj777) #1

We are just starting to enable global and team voip on our servers. Creation of fireteams seems not to happen most times so hoping at least team voip helps improve the pub players experience.

Of course voip brings its own admin issues and I know we can mute/unmute clients via rcon with
muteclientindex X and unmuteclientindex X (EDIT: actually should the rcon be: admin playervoipmute X )? wtb unmute then?

my question is if we find a player that repeatedly abuses the voip is there a flag in the guidstates file that we could set against a player guid that would auto disable their voip when they join the server?

also is there a way to determine the mute state of a client from rcon. ie i’d like our rcon tool to know already if the client is muted and show the appropriate button (eg if the client is muted the button says UNMUTE and vice versa)

Thanks

guidstates.dat is not officially supported and the tinkering we did with it suggests admining in BRINK is nowhere near as robust as admining in ETQW. I am sorry to say that what you ask is most likely not a working feature.
