Adjust 250 screenshots into grayscale

(Loffy) #1

Hi!
I’m making a short roq-film. I have about 250 screenshots. I use the QuakeVideoMaker. But what if I want to make a black-and-white roq-film?
I have photoshop. Is it possible to make a bat-file (or whatever), to open/adjust/save/close all 250 screens? Some neat way to create screenshots in grayscale? The whole idea is to reduce file size. (I’m assuming that roq-films made from grayscale screens is smaller in size compared to a film made from colour screens.)
Anyone of you guys ever made a roq-film? Did it work? I know pointy and turbo did one, in that classic Project Schwalbe map (RtCW). But the rest of you, any comments?

You can use Irfanview for Batch Conversion.
It’s freeware.

You can do it with photoshop.

Open up one of your images, then click the actions tab (next to history). Click the ‘create new action’ icon. The litle record symbol should press in and you can resize, change to black and white etc. Then stop recording.

Then go File->automate->batch and you can select your new action and the source folder where your images are and away it goes.

Hm, I hear you. Wonderful news. Will try it later this evening. Thanks for the infanview-tip and the File-automate-batch tip!

Found this in the qvm-help under “special effects”

Monochromatic
This one will convert the scene into a monochromatic scene that is removing colors preserving luminance. The resulting luminance is mapped to a given color so it gives an overall hue for the scene. You can change hue with red/green/blue sliders, keep in mind that the resulting test square show the medium hue of the scene, don’t make it too dark.
A black/white movie is obtained by choosing a 50% grey (all sliders centered)

Sorry to ask a semi-unrelated question, but would it be possible to make a batch file to get a program like Wavlab to open a load of sound samples and save them all at certain sample rates?? omg if that was possible I can’t believe how much time it would save me every week :eek2:

I got a .roq working in et :slight_smile:
There is a .roq with the model “televised” from http://www.polycount.com if u wanna test while you make your .roq

The Roq file goes in the video folder : etmain/video…

Example shader =

{
		videomap video/blinkeye.roq
		blendfunc add
		rgbGen identity
	}

Yes, it’s possible to do that with wavelab.

If you’re going the photoshop way, I’d mess around a bit with the color levels in your batch so it doesn’t appear washed out after the conversion. If you change them around a bit, the picture will look a tad more lively :slight_smile:
