Spotting / Blinding and Direct Target
All these would be attached to his laser target finder. Blinding is the most obvious and easiest to implement and personally I think it should be in by default. Pointing the laser pointer towards enemies should result in a large lens flare effect on their screen. So, at distance, you can distract at areas where you need to cross the defenders line of sight. The flare effect should get larger the closer it is pointed to the enemy. Not only does this serve a function for the person using it but it also is a much bigger tell to the enemy when the target finder is being used.
Spotting would involve holding the laser over an enemy for around 2 seconds and result in a 6 second spot.
Direct Target, like the spotting would be designed around placing the beam on a player and holding it there for 2 seconds, after the 2 seconds that player is directly targeted by a smart mortar strike that will land around 5 seconds after the player is spotted. Breaking line of sight with the sky would be the only way to avoid taking 100 damage on impact. This would take 50% of a single strikes cooldown. More for tagging a engineer on their way to the EV to force them to take cover. The cool down is effect even if the strike does not hit.
