Added "seta r_useThreadedRenderer 2" to autoexec.cfg

Now I always crash when I try to start up the Brink Client. I deleted the autoexec.cfg and it still just crashes right after the “BRINK” logo.

Can someone help me out? Do I seriously gotta reinstall now?

My client never crashed before all this. WTF, I ACTUALLY THOUGHT I FIXED FOR ATI PROBLEMS. Now it just crashes.

Edit: I just unstalled it, now Im redownloading it from steam. WOW.

I don’t think this cvar is used anymore as Brink uses a jobs system. You can set the num of threads via cvar.

Try launching brink with +seta r_useThreadedRenderer 0.
Deleting an autoexec will not reset the cvar.

Dang, I didn’t know it wouldn’t restart it. I didn’t think of that, well I already deleted it and redownloading it from steam already. That sucks. I’d try that once its installed again.

Changes like this will be stored in Steam\userdataUserID\22350\local\base\brinkconfig.cfg so removing the autoexec.cfg wouldn’t have helped as the changes were already stored. Changing the CVar value in the autoexec.cfg or, as suggested by murka, running the game once with “+seta r_useThreadedRenderer 0” would have reset the value. Depending on how you removed Brink before downloading it again, you might have do this anyway.

Any word on whether this should, or shouldn’t be changed in the first place? It seems to be causing problems, but I haven’t seen any comment as to whether it’s actually recommended to tweak it.
