add more ways to spend credits!

im enjoying the game a lot so far. i have bought 2 mercs with real cash and 2 with credits.
im currently sitting on 50k again and already chanced the best loadouts for all the chars i play.

i have a suggestion.
make loadouts completely random. random weapon and augment rolls. itd add a ton of depth to the games progression and id still be wasting my credits on loadouts instead of piling them up - ready for whatever merc comes next.

i actually thought the game had random rolls for everything when i started.
i was kind of disapointed when i found out that you can only get like 9 loadouts for each merc and that each merc usually only has one loadout that is just the best.
look at 383 sparks loadout, no point getting any other of hers, no matter how hard i try telling myself “that one could be a good alternative”.

im aware that random loadouts may piss off some people or not fit the competitive scene.
a good addition to support such a drastic change could be the introduction of loadout trading P2P.
that way a competitive player doesnt have to roll dice for an eternity but could just buy his perfect loadout for say 20k from another player.

Hopefully a new merc will be added this week for you to burn your credits on.

However, the long term spending of credits is generally for bling. If you have no use for the bling(or just don’t care about it) then just have fun playing the game.

Also, for 100% random loadouts… That would ruin the game for a number of people trying to get a loadout they want. It would completely invalidate all of the work being done to get the game as far away from P2W as possible.

It sounds like you are suggesting that Nexon make it so players CAN’T save up for the next merc they may want… because they would almost never get a loadout they want…

hm im not sure if being able to instantly buy the very best loadout for real cash is more p2w than randomness.
someone please explain to me, i must be missing something atm.

for example getting the best gear in an RPG is usually a matter of time investment and dedication. how does RNG automatically make a game p2w?

You can buy any bronze loadout you want for 17,500 credits. At levels 2 and 4 you get 12,000 credits each, so 24,000. You don’t have to RELY on randomness.

Relying on 100% randomness means a player can spend real money until they get what they want significantly faster then a f2p user. Whether that is $10 or $100+.

With the current system any player can get any bronze loadout they want in less than a week for any merc.

RNG doesn’t automatically make the game p2w. But when you set the odds at such a rate that getting what you want requires a very significant investment it becomes p2w.

On a side note, the pre-made loadout cards also help the devs balance the game a bit more by not having one particular broken OP loadout for a merc. The other Sparks loadouts can be decent depending. The 383 is just fantastic if you are going pure support role. I use a different loadout with Chopper and a Cricket bat so I am more versatile on the battlefield.

his point was that random would be ‘unlimited random’ ; say proxy with LMG and doubletime, or Rhino with a sniper rifle.

to clarify, i meant keeping the weapons to their respective mercs.
same for augments, keep the table for them for every merc, just allow any combination to appear.

i understand that too much random makes people bitch even more. oh well, i guess f2p has to be shallow to not become p2w

I was extremely dissapointed when i learned that loadouts were all predefined and there is so little versions of them.
And i would like to see random loadout rolls, with certain limitations.
Obviously no LMG for Proxy and such, Vassili also gets to keep his rifle, etc
And certain merc type specific perks also stay with their respectful specialization.
Another limitation could be that certain perks exclude eachother, eg you can get one but not the other in same card.
Another possiblity is assign each perk a value, from 1 to 3, based on perk desiredness, and limit randomness by those points, eg each loadout get 6 point for perks, either 1 good, 1 ok, 1 crap or 3 ok perks.
Or, better yet, ability to disassemble exiting card into “parts” and then build your own, with same limitations to prevent uber builds.

I would absolutely despise the loadout system being random like that. Not only would it be highly annoying to obtain anything useful but it would also be very quickly perceived as extremely scummy freemium practices.

Creating cosmetics that people can buy with in-game credit or money would be totally fine. Also adding new guns to mercs and creating new loadout cards with them would be great as it would allow for even more loadout variety while still being balanced.
