Please add this option-- it will help the progressed players finding matches with much less cheaters. Nearly all cheaters we encounter are level 1-6.
Add min level 10 competitive servers
This should be the minimum level for competitive anyway.
Also minimum level is currently 5 so you are not encountering level 1-4 cheaters in comp.
I agree this addition would help limit the chances for running into blatant cheaters. It’ll also pretty much guarantee a cooperative and well-understood team rather than players who are level 5 just learning the game.
I could not agree more. It’ll definitely reduce the amount of temporary hackers but in all honestly I feel that if someone truly wants to hack the game they will more than likely find a way to do it as far as competitive is concerned. However, level 10 as a minimum across the board is an excellent idea. This will definitely improve the overall quality of the players.
Erf, level 5 to access matchmaking was a community request back in early days of this build, because level 8 seemed way too long to access back in those days. I don’t know if they will go back and forth on that. But I totally agree, and I already mentionned those issues back there.
On top of that, I’m not against a minimum pool of merc required to play, like having bought at least one engineer and 1/2 other mercs.
And the game should also force people on matchmaking to have at least a medic/support/engineer in their roaster. I’ve seen a couple of times players with quite an experienced level (around 15) having a full assault + recon roaster, expect to win with this then blame their team mates for the lack of teamplay.
I do think that’s way too high. I’m still not level 10.
I doubt level 10 servers for comp will even do anything. The matchmaking already factors in your skill through rank. If you’re playing with scrubnubs, either they’re just getting matched, or well…

It’s exactly why it’s a good idea, Cheaters would have to grind until level 10 before going into comp. Even with their cheat it will take some time to achieve it, and they may be banned before achieving level 10 if they abuse their cheats in public…
The only problem is that they will go on a rampage on public servers, but at least we can kick them there.
So It’s a good idea overall.

im level 37 atm. and 90% of players I find in MM are lvl 6-8
Competitive minimum lvl 10 does have it advantages to detect and ban cheaters earlier in public matches. In public matches we can: leave the match, kick them, report them etc… Without losing 15 mins of pure agony in competitive match making.
An matchmaking option could be added (checkbox) to only match lvl 10 minimum in competitive. But that would mean matchmaking from level 5 would still happen but only to the “newbies”.
Anyhow, in both cases an large part of the community would be more safe against haxxers. But at the cost of scaring relatively “new” players.

It mainly depends on where SD and Nexon want to “place” matchmaking compared to a regular pub game. Even if they’re two completely genres, take for example cs:go and league of legends. On one hand, cs:go allow anyone to do ranked matchmaking games with no restrictions at all while, on the other hand, LoL requires tons of regular games to reach level 30 and force to have an already strong hero pool.
In my opinion, raising the minimum level as a hacker filter is somehow a band-aid that may contradict their vision of ranked games. AC needs to be efficient enough to catch hacker before they dive into MM.
Personally, I prefer to have a high level requirement for ranked games, but that is just my preference, and is not related to cheaters. My opinion is that with enough level necessary, the skill gap should be tighter and therefore facilitate the work of the ELO-like system. And let’s be honest, it does not work as intended right now.
Thanks for the feedback on this guys. I can definitely ask the team their thoughts.
