Add Dirty Bomb To Steam?

(iSuperDuper) #1

Hello, I’m really interested to see how Dirty Bomb will play out on release and I’m wondering if it’s possible to add it to steam for more exposure. The game is really fun and I love the small elements they added from ET. If it’s possible then I encourage you Splash Damage to add it on steam/greenlit games to make sure it gets the attention it needs on release.

Good luck with the project. I hope good stuff happen and that the game will be a success

this belongs to closed beta forums, This is considered to be a NDA breach, Nexon/SD can ban you for this…

Well Nexon is already the publisher, and they have their own launcher…

The Nexon launcher is absolute trash.

Umm, He did not post anything about key components of the game, He’s just asking for the game to be on Steam as well, which will never happen since Nexon is involved.

the Steam will provide excellent hack shield. way better than nexon’s which obviously if you played other nexon games. its full of hackers.

Publishers have nothing to do with cheat protection.

(Brismo) #7

yeah but you have to see what he is getting at…

(SGT_HAM) #8

he obviously doesn’t know that steam has its own built-in hackshield. and where steam is at. their hackshield needs to be perfect and it is.

I am doubtful Dirty Bomb will be on Steam due to Nexon being the publisher and having their own competing distribution system.

I feel as though the best approach is to join via Steam rather than Nexon. Not because Nexon is a bad application but because Steam is one of the largest online gaming communities for PC and it will not only provide a substantial amount of publicity but it will also help against violators wanting to abuse the game through as SGT_HAM said “Steam will provide excellent hack shield”. Among other things listed Steam is a more viable application rather than Nexon.

I fully agree with you chr0me and would love to see it on Steam and having Valve Anti-Cheat but I imagine Nexon are going to be waging that making Dirty Bomb exclusive via Nexon Launcher will be overall beneficial than using Steam. Basically by forcing people to use the Nexon launcher they are getting passive advertising for their other games; the same reason EA have gone down the Origin exclusive path.

I would be very happy to be wrong.

It’s not about posting anything about key components or not. The NDA says clearly that you have no right to disclose any information about the game, which he did. Tastic is right and this is an NDA breach.

He could have just asked his question without speaking about the game…
