Achievement ideas

So, I’m bored, and decided to do this because why the hell not. If you have other ideas feel free to comment. Some of these will have names for them.

  • As Phoenix, self revive while 2 or more enemies are near by and escape the area alive.
  • Revenant: After being downed, be revived and down and finish the person who downed you before either of you die.
  • Down 5 enemies with a turret before it is destroyed.
  • If you want it done right…: As a non objective specialist merc, completely repair the EV single highhandedly.
  • …you have to do it yourself: As a non objective specialist merc, plant and/or completely defuse x C4 charges. [alternatively, this achievement could be revive x number of teammates as a non medic merc.]
  • Eat Pinapple!: As Fragger, down 3 enemies with a single grenade.
  • Proxy-mates: As Proxy, down 3 enemies with a single proximity mine.
  • As Kira, down 5 enemies with a single orbital laser.
  • I get knocked down…: Disable an EV within x seconds of it being repaired.
  • …but I get up again: Repair the EV within x seconds of it being disabled.
  • Speed up a teammates ability cooldown by x% by throwing ammo packs at them. [Unless I’m incorrect about this being a mechanic in the game, in which case disregard.]
  • While using the default loadout card for any merc, down and finish an enemy who is using a cobalt card for any merc.
  • Solomon Grundy (assuming that’s not a trademarked name that SD couldn’t get the rights to): be down and revived 5 times without getting finished.
  • Who needs C4?: Destroy a secondary objective before a teammate’s C4 charge detonates.

That last one, lol.
Also, I haven’t been able to get more than 2 kills with a frag grenade nowadays, did they make it so players can block the damage from players behind them?

I really like the idea of having merc specific badges, but I wouldn’t wanna encourage people to go for triple kills as proxy but rather to place them well.
Get a badge if two or three of your mines get you a kill without being neutralized would be an example.

and I absolutely don’t want a badge that encourages non medics to help up many people in a row, its just stupid, its not helping and you’re wasting everyones time.
But a badge you receive when helping up a medic that then revives/heals x teammates, THAT’s a good idea !

Get a Godlike medal with every single merc.
All the badges in general serve good achievements.

@Haki I don’t really think we’d have to worry too much about people playing just to get achievements since on steam achievements really don’t mean anything (kinda wish they did).

Here’s an idea for another:

  • Solomon Grundy (assuming that’s not a trademarked name that SD couldn’t get the rights to): be down and revived 5 times without getting finished.

Ok I got a ton of disagrees… ;(

In an effort to correct that, I think achievements would be fine only if they’re mostly objective based as to not have a room of people going for certain achievements.

How about stuff like spend an actual day of real time repairing primary/secondary objectives, etc.

18 DB achievements appeared in steam and they were a joke. All of us regular players would unlock all 18 right away if they unlock retroactively.

Well steam achievements mean nothing other than to give you a challenge or recognize something you did. I don’t think that many people would potentially ruin a game to complete them.
