Accuracy

(derpyMoonMoon) #1

So I am not a new player, I have about 500 hours in game, 300 of which are in a match, but I need help with some accuracy tips. I have an average accuracy of about 25% with smg’s, 30% with the Driess and shotguns, but I see a lot of players with 35%+ accuracy with smg’s. I know not to ADS, don’t stand in the open, keep on the move, the basics. I don’t have a good reaction time, as a person, I’m a bit slow by nature, so just practice won’t help anymore unless I try something new. I use low sensitivity, moderate FOV, no mouse acceleration, so what am I doing wrong? I have a very small mouse compared to my hand, I have to claw it, using my fingers to aim instead of my hand, so that may be throwing me off. Can anyone suggest anything?

Definitely get a mouse that feels good. I use the Logitech G602 and LOVE it but they just came out with the G900. The G502 is a great choice as well. I love Logitech mice and they have a nice size to them. Never scimp out on your mouse. definitely drop some $$$ and get a quality mouse.

I have a $20 mouse from china >.> that may explain a thing or two.

Well how long have you been playing FPS’s. If this is your first FPS. Don’t be ashamed of 25%. Over 35% goes to FPS Vets and naturally skilled players

I mostly play MMO’s or RPG’s, not any other FPS’s of note though (COD for maybe 10 hours doesn’t count).

Try to keep your crosshair around peoples heads, usually helps with getting headshots though that probably won’t help with overall accuracy. Obviously take it slow and don’t use shotguns at long range. Iron sight is not worth using unless the opponent is far, far away.

I’m new to the forum but I am an experienced Dirty Bomb player.

What’s you’re sensitivity? Having a low sensitivity helps improve tracking while in combat. My sens is 1600 Dpi and 5 in-game with windows set to 6/11. Getting a better mouse that fits your hand will also help considerably as mentioned above.

1600 mouse, 6/11 windows, and about 15-20 in game >.> I have a very small mouse pad and use a claw grip (I only move up to my wrist due to the laid back way I sit). I just got a new mouse so that may help soon.

That sens is way too high. Try to get it lower.

I have 1000 dpi mouse and 13 sens in game

I personally like using the Razer Death Adder mouse but what ever you want man

My general rule for mouse sensitivity is to set it where when I do a full flick of my wrist I complete an exact 180 degree turn looking behind me.

I’ll second the advice to lower your sensitivity, I have 450 dpi and 6.6 sensitivity. As far as mouses go, figure out what grip you find most comfortable before trying to get a nice mouse, I use a fingertip grip but everyone has their own style.

If you really want to put some effort into your aim, messing around with different games on http://www.aimbooster.com/s/WNJpZ70 can be helpful to build up a faster reaction time and hand eye coordination.

And finally, remember that it’s just a game, make sure to do melee only matches now and then, learn the trick jumps and get used to the intricacies of the movement system you might have ignored before.

This is a real Signature.

I tend to pace myself much like I’m playing a game of counter strike. Take corners one at a time, keeping the crosshair at head height, and following the edge of the wall. In terms of moving around the map, avoid high traffic areas, try to work the outer rim of the maps, get some easy pick offs, and NEVER get greedy. As for sensitivity, I’m running 400 DPI at 8.7 in-game. A good standard to go off is if you’re spinning more than 360 degrees from the full length of your mousepad, consider lowering it.

The problem is this is all Merc specific. The above tactics tend to work best with the aggressive medics (Sawbonez and Phoenix, and perhaps Sparks of you’re up to it).

Let me know what mercs you throughly enjoy and I’d be glad to give you my insight into their play styles.

Your sensitivity is waaaaay too high. I play with 1600 dpi, 3 ingame sens - easily >35% acc with gibbing everything, but Ive been playing FPS games since 2004. My advice to you (and all new players) is to cut your sens in half, get used to it, then lower it even further. My go to rule is 360 degree turn on the whole mousepad (mine is 40cm wide). Such sensitivity requires you to play with wrist/forearm combined, ideally with your elbow on the desk. It will be very painful at the begining and you will play a lot worse for quite some time, but in the end it will pay off big time. Also buy yourself some good gaming mouse and mousepad.

The last part is the way you aim in the game. DB requires you to shoot headshots to be any good so try to keep your crosshair at the level you predict your enemy’s head will be. Never run with the crosshair pointing to the ground, then just strafe and shoot. I think 35% acc is achievable for anyone with good mindset, mouse setup, and a lot of time

Try 750 or 1000, and 16.1~18.9 in game
