About the minimap.

Well, i’ve been playin CS:GO and others FPS games for a while, and something is just missing to me.
The minimap does not show some stuff that I think should be important.

I don’t really know about that but i’m missing some key features that can provice a solid help and time consuming about talking and showing to your team what’s going on.

  • Show the enemies on minimap when they appears. (I know that vassili can spot some people with his Sensor and some augments that helps alot, but it’s kinda “lost” to me that I can’t move or focus on some friends targets from afar if they spotted them.
  • Like Kira Ammo Station and Auras Health station, should be possible to see where is it on the minimap, just to be more sensitive where to go if you do not know where your team mate mounted on.

I think that’s it, if you have some points to add do not be afraid to comment it on o/

Sorry about my english, it’s not my first laguage and i’m trying to do my best here o/

I think thrown airstrike flares should show too, although there is an augment that nearly does the same thing. They are also decently visible from what the player sees, but i wouldn’t mind if this was added for an extra little warning.

Being able to see enemies currently in friends’ crosshairs would be that nice little thing. Every Merc can do objectives, but Engies do them faster. Every Merc can help-up, but Medics can rez and healz. There’s ammo crates, but why bother when a Fire Support can top you off? Anyone can kill anyone else…Assaults are better optimized for it.

This would be up the same alley. Having an enemy in your crosshairs should spot them for the duration you’re aiming at them. Vassili and Redeye happen to have abilities that do this more easily.

Seeing friendly deployables on the minimap would help, too. And a keybind to call up a full map superimposed on your vision.

maybe only when you ADS to give ADS more purpose? i rarely use it unless the person i am shooting is very far away and i can’t control my burst well enough to hit them. Furthermore, if the enemy showed up every time they appeared in an allies cross hair they would be visible most of the time because of how fast paced this game is. Enemies would appear on your radar, disappear for a few seconds while they get a medic or ammo, and appear again doing the same thing. Overall i would like it not intrusive to the minimap (less enemies appear is less cluster and less me freaking out).

Why not put the ammo crates only on the tab map or an overlay map so it does not cluster the tiny (based on monitor size) minimap we have while still making the information pretty easy to find?

How about making it bigger? I thought 1920 by 1080 (1200 in my case) was the norm now for gaming. It’s basically a postage stamp. Worse the UI HUD elements are split out over the 4 corners of the screen forcing your eyes to constantly flick about - leading to eye fatigue.

While yes, there are config changes, there’s no easy way to make them. It means only getting to check the minimap or the round timers if I’m not engaged with an enemy at the moment.

Wait, there is a minimap?

(Samniss_Arandeen) #8

It’s that grey thing in the lower left corner of your screen. You know, the lower left corner you’re never looking at.

Those are the reasons why I never look at the minimap. In fact a lot of decent players in their custom HUD, they took away the minimap simply because it really isn’t that beneficial.

The only time I ever even look at the minimap is as Sawbonez and I need to know where my allies are. Even then, I don’t know who’s who, and I have to look up from it to see the health of my allies. Not a lot of game functions make use of it, which is a shame, as I’ve wasted countless seconds running around looking for that fucking healing station our Aura posted.
