About the AI...
Haven’t played the update yet, but Be More Objective is such a bitch.

I get the HE charge in the first minute, then usually the repair before the 5 min. mark, but the hack is just lame. They put a turret and four bots there and there’s nothing I can do.
Oh, I forgot to mention THE AI DOESN’T DO ****.

I’ll probably get it some day, but I tried for two hours straight yesterday and I got so frustrated I wanted to break my xbox.
this this a million times this.

The first two obectives are pisseasy, but the hack is stupid.
Im all for a good challenge, dont get me wrong, love it.

But 4 bots AND a turret camping the terminal, and have free line of sight from their respawn so they can shoot at me while running to their little camp, while my “ai” team mates run around giving eachother ammo and boost health (but not mine thats taking damage)… does not equal a challenge. i repeat does NOT equal a challenge (bold and underline to draw attention, caps for style points).

That and they piss nades at me with pinpoint accuracy…

Im on PC btw…

Seriously SD, fix this issue please. I just tried What-If: Critical Reaction, on hard, for the 10th time, and the first stage is almost impossible to pass due to bots ignoring the primary objective. Then I would get facerolled on the second stage due to the bots only caring about the damn Command Posts and completely avoiding the Primary Objective whilst the entire enemy team sits and camps the Primary Objective except for the 1 or 2 that go out to recapture Command Posts sending my team into a loop of doing nothing but recapturing Command Posts… I have tried this campaign no less than 10 times, several times on each difficulty, with absolutely no success. Why? Well I think by now you should know why… Fix the AI, or at least give us a way in co-op or single player to direct where our AI teammates go.

Please don’t let this game fade into obscurity like ETQW did… It has potential to outshine the competition so long as you actually polish it… :frowning:

Edit: Also, my game, since the patch, now crashes each and every time I alt+tab out. It used to only do it occasionally, now it does it all the time. Also, any time any menus are opened up, or overlays are opened up, the games performance suffers drastically. Namely when I press F12 (that’s my personal keybinding) to open up the steam overlay, or in some of the menus such as the gun selection menu (not all the time, but on occasion).
Bots:

Even after your claimed “improvements” to the AI, their objective logic goes as follows:

Command Post >>>>> Primary Objective

Any time I play a single player or co-op game it usually ends in me, and sometimes my friends, quitting due to our AI being more concerned with secondary objectives than primary objectives. This is a blatant issue and it’s rather surprising it has yet to be addressed. Also, there should be a way, in single player, for you as a player to have some sway on getting your team to help out, such as posting a focal point for your team. It’s more frustrating than what it’s worth to do co-op or single player due to horrible AI on your own team. The other team is always more than happy to camp out at the main objective as well, making an already bad situation worse.

Turrets:

They seem to take quite a while to lock onto their target, this is bad for rather obvious reasons… It really should be fixed as it renders turrets almost useless, even against bots.

Please, please fix these issues, else I shall send a pack of these things to ravage your offices!

Keep at them brothers, if we complain enough, they may just give us what we want. I’m behind you 100%. Also, you might need one of these :stroggbanana: and another one of these :stroggtapir: to get the job done.

I love how the patch notes claim to have fixed the AI, yet they do the same exact things they did pre-patch. Also, the performance issues are still there. As a matter of a fact, all of the “Solved Issues” are still there causing problems.

Yet another complaint… Your company bragged about unparalleled customization of your character. About all the possible combinations of blah blah blah… What happened to that? Did you give up? All there are is a bunch of preset color combinations/paterns for the items. What? Like 10 choices per item? By how you all talked about it, it sounded like it was the most godly customization system ever recorded in the history of gaming. Hell, even TotalBiscuit made a remark about it in his latest video. He didn’t even gripe about the game overall much, yet this was pointed out as a glaring issue. Also, no weapon color customization? Really? I hope you guys don’t plan on charging us for more customization of our characters/weapons… Especially after all the touting you have done over the customization features…

Yes, I’m mad, very mad… If you don’t fix these issues and address the concerns of your fanbase (or what remains of it) then this game will fade into obscurity just like the previous titles your company has released. It’s sad too, especially for a game that had so much going for it. At least fess up to the issues, state what you’re going to fix. Hell, make a checklist that’s public so that we, your fans and players, can see what progress is being made on fixing this game. Don’t stop the communication you had pre-release post-release, keep in touch with your player base, else you stand to lose them/us.

I think people are playing a different game to me. AI is fine here. They can be a bit slack at times but certainly complete mains, even on their own.

In fact AI is generally very very good if you can forgive them for certain things

The problem isn’t overall, the problem is specific objectives that they either A: suck at working at a team to accomplish, or B: ignore completely in order to screw around with Command Posts.

In particular they seem to have a problem accomplishing the following objectives as a team:
Escort missions
Flag carry missions

As for missions they tend to give a crap less about and would rather screw around with Command Posts:
Hack objectives
Demolition objectives (less so than Hack objectives)

Unfortunately these 4 objective types make up a majority of the missions. Some people say it’s not as bad on Hard. I just say they’re just as unwilling to work as a team on hard, but your team is more efficient at killing allowing some leeway in them screwing around with other objectives than what they need to do. Meaning that since they’re more skilled on your team under the Hard setting, they tend to be able to kill easier than when on Easy or Normal, at which point they just stand around, screw around with Command Posts, and just become utterly useless.

Edit: As a note, I have seen my entire team ditch a hack/demolish objective (on nearly all cases) to go capture a command post because 1 bot from the opposing team decided to take it. This would leave me all alone to face off against 8 bots while 7 of my team mates are off screwing around with the Command Post. Just had it happen 10 minutes ago, during a flag capture round, multiple times. This just led to me quitting the game.
