About silver, gold and cobalt cards

(ToonBE) #1

Because nexon and splash damage fail in a way to make this clear to everyone:

Silver, gold or cobalt is not better in any way. It is just cosmetic bling.

Beyond the bronze cards there isnt anything better gameplay wise.

You could discribe it like this: a cobalt, gold or silver card is a bronze card with another skin.

So if you were trying to get gold and silvers for your mercs because you think they are stronger or better, well you can stop now and focus on getting bronze;).

Getting anything beyond that is a waste of money and credits, because 95% of the time you’ll be trading perfectly good bronze load outs into 1 silver load out you will not like. (probably)

Untill skins are seperated from load outs and weapons, don’t waste your money or credits;) Or atleast that is my oppinion.

It’s actually explained in game in the description of every loadout cases available. If someone fails to understand that, he just can’t read.

@Eox I know but still I read it in reviews and on this forum. So yeah it could be a lot clearer still.

(Eox) #4

It’s still a good thing to remind.

As much as it is there in plan text on the crate purchase page, it would be extremely wise to make it clearer. I have seem people complaining about the card system a lot and even some professional reviewers (written and video) stating the higher grade card the better, but failing to mention it does not matter after bronze (some have been corrected though).

(Backuplight) #6

I mean, it’s worth keeping in mind that until the last patch, some of the higher rarity cards did have unique combinations - so if the reviews were from before that time, they may have perceived those as “better” cards. I’ve read some pretty ridiculous reviews though, one said they turned the game off after the opening intro video because it was “so terrible” …uhh. Okay. I liked it.

Overall I think the loadout thing is explained pretty well - how it reads to someone entirely new is another thing, so if an extra clarification helps then it doesn’t do any harm, regardless of whether some of us feel it’s necessary.

If you read the reviews you can tell some people simply started up the game, didn’t read anything or pay attention and then decided to make up their own reality about the game and then proceed to be mad about it. Especially if they didn’t do well and somebody had a Gold card. They immediately think that Gold card made them better, gave them 200 more HP, gives them 3x the power etc. etc. I’ve read this so many times from recent reviewers and all you can do is ignore most of the time. You can reply to their review and point out how the system works (be nice though) and hope they revise it but that’s about it and most people won’t even care to do that or believe you.

just because people are ignorant, doesnt mean it won’t hurt the game.

It is definitely under-explained how the whole loadout system works, what are the benefits and limits thereoff.

Can’t blame 14year-olds for short attention span. Be like complaining rain is wet, or sun warm.

I’d be a shame to see another SD game with ‘great potential’ but never quite making the cut.

I never said or implied that negative reviews wouldn’t hurt the game. I stated reasoning behind most of the reviews and what could be done even if it is probably going to be in vain most likely.

What the…

What’re those red cards?

(Kouken) #13

People who played in the very early steam beta testing got the red cards
PreSteam Beta testers got snubbed (which is VERY lame)

Its funny cause looking through all those cobalts he has, I would only used one of them
Each MERC only has 1 or maybe 2 loadouts i would use, and I have them all in bronze
Anything Ive tried to RNG tradeup to pretty skins using unwanted cards has been a disappointment
If I could flat out buy a cobalt the exact loadout I use then paying large$ would make sense, atm elite cases are a joke

(Nail) #14

beta testers only got 1 card, the other 3 are Founders cards from Alpha, but I just realized looking at them that there’s more than 1 Obsidian loadout, he has 2 Vassili

(ToonBE) #15

I’m hoping the next update will make this clear, so no confusion can exist about these load out cards

(_Sniff_) #16

I think that obsidian cards are event cards. Especially since they’ve said there will be more chances for obsidian cards in the future.

(Nail) #17

I have 6 Obsidian, 5 Founders and 1 from stress test, the Founders are “exclusive”

(DB Genome editor) #18

The Founders versions are different from the Beta Fighter ones, so Proxy, Sawbonez, Fragger and Vassili each have 2.

(Nail) #19

I’m wondering if there may be even more with different loadouts and augments

(GregHouseMD) #20

Beta Fighter Obsidians are identical to loadouts in the game, I can tell you that much. I got a gold duplicate of my Beta Fighter Proxy.
