About Objective Mode and the Server Browser...

So I downloaded the patch, played a few CMM matches with and against Javelin (her balance is a discussion for another day). Then I got bored and checked out the Server Browser.

“Huh,” I thought. “Maybe I can find an Objective match with the Server Browser!”

So I punched in the settings: “Objective, Has Players, US East and US West.” And what do I get…

Absolutely nothing.

EU East, South America, and Asia, on the other hand…

So is this gonna get fixed anytime soon? Sometimes I like to quickly find and drop into an Objective match, and I did that a lot before CMM. But now? Can’t find a single server in the US, and I’m not gonna play with 200 ping on a server across an ocean.

Oh yeah, there’s no backfill and I can’t see my actual level progress after a match with CMM, just the total amount of XP I have (which is meaningless to me- give me my XP bar back!).

same here, just reset the filters and type +EU etc., keep the settings on all …should be a good workaround

I’m pretty sure the problem here is that there are no US Objective servers to speak of in the Server Browser. I’ll try that and see if there actually are any…

Can’t contribute much to this conversation, but one thing: I’m fairly sure there is backfilling, no?

I’ve seen others report that backfilling works, but I’ve played a few matches without backfill on either team- these were also on US servers, oddly enough.

Probably need to play more matches to confirm it, but from my experience, I’m assuming that backfill doesn’t work (properly?).

Yeah, the CMM UI seems kinda weird. The text colours are so small and dark that you can barely read individual stats after the game ends.

Not to mention stuff like this.

Why not list actual stats instead of XP. Number of revives, mercs killed, number of finishes, etc. “Finish XP” hardly helps anyone.

It’s really frustrating considering the game keep giving me XP in objective mode missions and I’m sitting 5-10 minutes and I can’t get a casual queue

You do know there is a second page to the end game report that shows all the stats, right? You can also get the same full review as for Ranked in your Profile > Recent Games.

They did this on purpose and it’s one of the worst things about the update. They kept saying they would be keeping the server browser, but failed to clarify they would only keep Stopwatch. It’s terrible. What makes it worse is that in CMM, you can’t even choose what subregion you want to join, like U.S. East or West. Because of that, I can’t even play CMM. It keeps throwing me on the U.S. West servers that give me a ping of 100+ which is essentially unplayable for me.

Tbh I don’t mind, if it improves stopwatch cool. Casual match making is garbage anyhow

That would’ve been nice to know before the update hit (correct me if SD actually did say this).

I suppose I’ll just wait until rentable servers are up before I can play drop-in/out Objective without having to play on SA servers.

but but cmm is so awsome that every one must go there against will. (that was supposed to be sarcasm).

Just wait for them to decide to put stop watch in there.

These are supposed to be the highlighted mercs, the 5 most important players in the match. Sure you can see the stats on the next page, but why highlight useless information on something like this.
“Best skyhammer, 268 xp! Wow! LOOK AT THIS SCORE!”

I just came back after a short break and the CMM system so far is just awful. Where are the 8v8 servers? Why does it not fill up empty spaces(3v5 game was REAL fun)? Why is there sooo much downtime between matches? Why can’t I hotjoin my friends? I loved dirty bomb 8v8 objective servers were awesome, but this made me instantly exit the game. If they are trying to homogenize the game then I guess I’m the odd man out because so far I’m certainly not liking it.

There is backfilling and it has worked every game for me bar one.

Some people actually like 8v8. It’s something different, often more intense than 6v6. It’s just a lot easier to replay. Lower person-cap servers always get stuck in a sort of boring meta, whereas some people enjoy going crazy and having fun. I honestly wish we had 9v9 servers, 5v5 is one of the major reasons I hate ranked.
