About Dickens cards and RNG.

(crabbyWaltz) #1

Is it me or the price of cases plus the RNG doesn’t make it worth to buy it for the events? I mean 21$ for 5 cases and 38$ for one dickens card and you dont know what you’re going to get it might be a merc you play it could be a merc you dont have or like or both it could be a card you hate or it could just not be an event card at all. Idk it just seems like so little for so many.

I think most people would tell you it’s never really been worth it to spend money for RNG, event or no.

(Backuplight) #3

As one of the many that make up most people, can confirm I would tell you this.

Spent money on the last event (containment war) and it made me realise how bad of an investment it is. They didn’t even alter the drop-rates this time, so yes - it is absolutely TERRIBLE value. I will not be buying any of the elite cases from this event, because they simply aren’t worth it.

(Szab95) #5

I feel like I saw this post already  Oh wait it was a containment war one

(Jostabeere) #6

You got it. I spent 20€ on the 5 bundle mostly to support SD since I knew I won’t get anything. In the end I got 1 gold and 4 silvers. The gold was traded-in with 2 crappy Phantoms and I finally got my gold CR94. Silvers were traded-up for a best SMG-9 Nader. But yes. Buying them for event cases is stupid.

(gg2ez) #7

No, spending money on RNG is a fool’s investment, coincidentally I am a fool.

Here’s what I fear about Nexon/SD and these events: They’ll never change as long as they make money from these events.

(CCP115) #8

$42 bucks for the guaranteed case.

Can I point out that I bought about 5 games in the fall sale, not indie games mind you, for about $35? I’m sorry SD, but that’s fucking expensive.

(Black) #9

How do we even know the proposed percentage chances are real?

(gg2ez) #10

We don’t, all we can do is trust - and in light of recent events, I don’t know how much trust I have left.

(InfernoKun) #11

I was talking to my IRL friend about how I was trying to get a CW card by purchasing the 10 elite case bundle. Near the beginning of the event I bought one bundle and got 2 CW cards, one of which I thought was decent and I use.

I told him I was basically paying for a 10% chance to get a card, but also… It was like I might not even get the merc I want or even the loadout I want. He nearly killed me but that’s besides the point. I bought it anyway and in the end I got the exact Kira loadout I wanted. Was it worth it? Probably not. I make bad choices. Just gonna roll with the o’l 0.3% this time…

(RyePanda) #12

Yeah, give us better odds or, I don’t know sell us the guaranteed cases already! I will buy them!

(Halosheep) #13

Bought two of the event packs during CW (1 before and 1 during the sale), I got the best card for Aura and a really good one for Stoker. I also found two of the guaranteed cases while playing.
I wouldn’t do that again, the $35 pack gave me 2 CW and 9 silvers, not a single card over silver, while the second pack gave me 1 CW (the guaranteed one), and only 1 card over silver. The RNG isn’t worth the investment.

(Aazhyd) #14

The CW event has given me the knowledge to ignore these crates entirely. Chances of getting a special card are abysmal and I have an overload (400+) of lead loadouts anyway. I won’t be buying any of it, just opening the ones I get from playing.

(gg2ez) #15

This is exactly what I wanted to do - sadly, my immense lack of willpower caused me to spend $35 on the bundle and all I got was another shtty Vasilli loadout to go with my shtty Vasilli loadout I got from a regular case.

(Naralin) #16

Wait what? Can’t check right now but are you saying the drop rate in the elite cases are maintained at 0.3%?!

No, they are at 10%? I think?
