So it’s been annoying seeing that one guy in the game, in spectator, leaving one empty slot open, doing nothing but just watching over, wasting a player slot for your team or the enemy team. The ability to initiate a votekick on the spectator can clean up this minor problem and can bring someone into the server that is useful. Opinions?
Also this isn’t a rant or anything, just a simple idea that’s all.
kicking a spectator who is just watching the match isn’t something that sounds like a good idea.
I wouldn’t say kick the person, SD should just make the Spectator slot it’s own slot. This makes there be more room for spectators and having the actual players effected.

I believe they are working on exactly that. IIRC they mentioned it on one of the streams.
I do hope you’re missing the point where currently a spectator takes up a slot on the server, leaving the teams unbalanced.
Though I’m glad to hear that they’re finally rectifying the issue.
Current system is illogical, to put it mildly.
There should be 2 separate spectator slots in each match. Like 6vs6(+2). So that players who are spectating(for whatever reason, like to take a phone call) wont take up “precious” team slots.
First it would allow ppl to join games that already are fully stocked(as side effect it would often allow new players jump in almost instantly if some1 leaves). Second, it would allow players to take a few minutes off, if they have 2, without pissing every1 off(and without quitting match). And third, it would allow players to monitor games(and other players) without danger of being kicked.
Only limitation would be that if both teams are full, then spectators cant join either team. So they either wait till slot frees up or quit(or continue spectating of course).
I don’t think a separate slot would be that good. If someone spectated someone and the room gets full, he can’t join the game again.
People thinking about allowing new players to join, but completely ignoring what happens with the spectator.
