abilities that doesn't kick in

(LvFR3AKSHOW) #1

ive playing as a solider for a while now and noticed that the body armor doesn’t work because the engineer can give me body armor  why how can you not have a ability when you payed for it i don’t get it

You have the body armor. The glitch is that the engineer can give you what you already have.

When this happens, does the effect stack or does the soldier just get the same armor as a single vest gives?

I believe that the Engineer’s “Extra Kevlar” Ability stacks with the Soldier’s “Kevlar Vest” Ability. That is why an Engineer can buff a Soldier’s Kevlar.

And I say it doesn’t stack.

Sounds like some research is in order.

Assuming the Extra Kevlar description in the Brink Wiki is correct then it does:

Although stated otherwise in the in-game description, Engineers can buff Soldiers who have the Kevlar Vest ability. The effect is only half as effective though; adding 10% resistance to the Kevlar Vest’s 20%.

A simple search of the forums would present a number of thread son the same topic from long ago. Originally the abilities werent meant to stack (as indicated by the text box) but they did. The devs have since said that they arent going to change it and the abilities do stack. Id put a link to a thread here but since I dont really care about it ill leave it up to you to do research.

Exedore said that it works like intended (like some other things that are not like in the description).

Soldiers with their passive kevlar have 0.8 dmg multiplier.
The stacked buff on him will result in 0.7
