Nothing to discuss. It’s called “TEAMwork.”

Because then you would need at least two of each buff-class to keep everyone supplied.
Allowing players to self buff only with lower level buffs, makes it so if you want the good stuff, you need to rely on teammates.

I love the effects on the molotov right here at the end. I can see they’ve been polishing that stuff up a bit.
I took some captures of some of the masks too because they look so righteous.
Nice vid! Wish it would show an image of the Universal abilities though.
I’m somewhat surprised that Molotovs come standard from the start like Ammo resupply, could have sworn that it was an ability that needed to be purchased. It looks like the Engy mine is the same, though I can’t be sure as the icon wasn’t highlighted. Also, is it just me or does the Soldier ability in the bottom left hand corner look like a shield o.0? Does this mean that this is a pre-drop-shield build or is it a totally different ability we don’t know about?
The Self-Resurrection skill… take that as a heavy medic with a heavy shotgun and you could be considered really frickin annoying I would think.
Did anyone notice the light/Maybemedium? take out that heavy with the minigun near the end running straight at him head to head? They should have made him juke out of the way and flank him.
It’s old news, but the further away yuo are the longer it takes to hack.
Also probably to cut down on Rambo medics and if you do happen to be the only medic on your team, you can at least take care of yourself.
This is a very sexy trailer!
Here are some random thoughts:
A Brink motto could be: “Brink - the complexity is in the gameplay, not the controls.”
I love the Parkour chase scene! At 1:15, is the fella downed, or did we just witness a dude slide on the ground, and then drop into a crack in the floor?!
As medic, I will be rockin’ the Sprint Buff, so if you want to run like the wind, run with me.
Also, Word about HORSE’s description of the classes. They all look fun and incredibly deep.
MinglePlayer/Bots may work two ways: some SP only gamers may start playing MP, and some MP gamers may see the joy in playing with bots (especially to avoid the frustration of lag etc.).
I haven’t mentioned this before because I have been hoping that it won’t be a problem (or that it might still be changed), but I see a lot of nade downing in these latest videos. It concerns me. For Gears 2, Epic changed the smoke grenade to a smoke/knockdown grenade (the design decision was to provide something that could push the characters out from behind cover). It almost single-handedly ruined the game. When asked about his career mistakes, CliffyB mentioned two things, one was the smoke grenades. Gamers don’t like to lose control of their character. I am refraining from judging it, but I have had a lot of unpleasant experience with knock-down 'nades.
Yeah, and is he one-shot-killing the guy, or just hitting him so hard with buckshot that the enemy is blown off the ledge? I actually don’t mind 1 shot kills because as a poorly coordinated gamer, I benefit more from them than I lose from them. It is rare that I can shoot the target twice in a row. I give whole new meaning to spray and pray.
I think the description of the Standard Operative Kit disagrees with you, but it could just be semantics:
Are randomly placed enemy turrets considered objectives? I guess they might show up on the wheel… Hmmm…
Armor Buff perhaps? Or was that an Engineer skill??
Finally, 11 Soldier, 11 Engineer, 10 Medic & 10 Operative abilities leaves 16 Universal Abilities.
Heh I can see operative wars happening:
lol, my point was that Lights aren’t supposed to be able to use shotguns.
And your aim is quite horrible - but you make up for it in class actions (mainly heals and revives)

I think he’s sliding under a doorway or something out of view. I like the action with the cutting back and forth.
I like the smoke grenade when I don’t have anything else but I use it so I don’t get snuck up on. Stick it to a wall and if someone gets knocked down turn around and shotgun them. It can be heavily exploited which can be annoying.
I know what you mean. I prefer high damage wide spread semi auto weapons for that same reason.
I’m sure that’s a reference to a Primary Objective. For instance on one of the earlier vids a primary objective was to hack some fan controls to open the map to the next part.
@3suns: which is worse, getting knocked down but still having a chance, or getting one hit killed by a nade?

Yes, and to balance my humility, don’t forget the drill and anti-tank mines - you don’t need to aim to lay those cookies!
I keep the roads clear - its all about the shadows and the streams, baby!
@Cankor, I honestly don’t know.
No one complained about getting killed by the frags* in Gears 1, even though you only get one life, making death by a nade just that much more “offensive”. *Grenade tagging was an exception. The nades are a power weapon which meant they were rare and had to be obtained in action, not just something you went into battle with.
I think there is a difference between getting killed by a grenade (especially if it is a rare commodity), and getting killed by grenade “spam”: the latter being an infuriating way to go.
The latest Brink videos are showing a lot of nades going off, and this Ability video shows that the soldiers can stock them like a pocket full of coins for the fountain. Nades can be spammed even if they aren’t lethal. I can easily see a player getting knocked down, shooting off a couple of rounds that go wide, finally getting up, just to get knocked down again - then to be killed. If the end result is still death, then it is logical that that would be worse than just getting killed outright.
I want to play the game before I say it will become frustrating. It just concerns me, that’s all.
I don’t recall seeing anyone throw more than one grenade. Throwing one grenade is not grenade spam. I think I read somewhere that there is a “cool down”, you can’t throw two grenades in rapid succession.
