AAS files for bots

(KAtMAi) #1

if anyone here has the original AAS files for the bots for ET i certainly could use them as i have got the bots up and running and it would save a load of time .

According to digibob, the maps have had all their botclip brushes removed as well (to reduce the size), so this’ll be an additional hurdle to deal with…

As far as I know, nobody currently has the AAS files to go with the maps, and there are no publically available utilities to generate them.

Ok, I’m kind of new to this, but I never knew that there was a way to get Bots on ET. Could you someone please tell me what I have to do to get them?

You could always fire up bspc and make your own…

(digibob) #5

Regular bspc will not work with ET.

(Magik) #6

Is there a bspc version for ET available by now or can the source code for bspc be found somewhere?

(CM..Punk) #7

Just get the mod for bots. At the moment they work on Oasis only. A quick search here will get you the thread, I think it got moved to the editing/modding section.

Thanks, but my intention was to play around a little with the bot code myself, so the bot mod is of no real use for me.

running into same problem. I’ve tried bpsc but i get the max_mapfile_planes error every time. Searched every where, downloaded all kinds of source code from gkradiant to shaderlab to whatever. I just can’t find where the bpsc is compiled from, unless its an entirely different application independant of q3map/q3map2/etc.

Also noticed there isn’t a switch/option for aas anywhere in the code and I could have sworn q3map2 was able to -convert -format to aas from bsp (or is it *.map?) nor can i find a reference for Max_mapfile_plane…but I did see Max_map_plane … is this the same thing?? so if I double this value, compile, it would work?

BSPC is a closed source project, you will not be able to get ahold of the source for it.

Grr… that’s a shame that you don’t have AAS for ET… even though you’re meant to be a on-line multi-player game etc…

Would have been really nice to have the AAS/BSPC stuff.
