how come it has more fps? what did you do ? i need tips/tricks to get optimal fps on my map (s) :slight_smile:

i replaced some textures to caulk textures :stuck_out_tongue: very simple.

To get more FPS, minimize triangles.

  1. Chalk everywhere you can

  2. Make sure brush construction is optimal. Example, same number of brushes in these doorways, looks identicle to players, but one construction has fewer triangles. You might say, “whoa only 2 tris less”, this is a simple example, it can be much worse and it all adds up.

  3. Make sure vis portals are optimal

An even more important step is to choose a design which can block vis portals. For example, if you have a tunnel connecting two areas of your map, make it U shaped or Z shaped (but with the lines in the Z at right angles).

Hint brushes are one thing you use to make vis portals optimal.
