A simple question for the devs, regarding gun sights

Certain guns were mentioned being looked at before for having acog or dot sights, then we have not heard about it since.

Why is this? Limitations in terms of time or what you can do in game? Is it cause it does not fit your design principles? Or is it something else?

Just genuinely curious cause these look pretty awesome

i thought they said they didnt even made the model for the scopes ingame

Those are reflex sights on the Grandeur. They’r better for Hochfir, Tolen, MP400 and Empire-9.

(LifeupOmega) #4

Probably cause they don’t need them.

Can we have the silencer for the selbstadt back? That was amazing. Also the compenstator

I asked a while ago, and I can’t remember who but they basically said to me sights will never be looked at and will most likely never make it into the game.

I don’t know why either. I’d love to have more customization options in DB, and since the loadout system is here to stay I personally I think gun sights / silencers / other variables would be an awesome feature.

As long as it’s cosmetic and doesn’t impact gameplay whatsoever, I’m down for attachments.

If they look like Stark AR or blishlok sights you’ll be disappointed. Currently the only similar exemples of what you ask.

Honestly, I’d way prefer they rework all the current sights currently in-game before adding anything new on top of it.

In my opinion, the idea of never looking at more advanced sights than just the basic irons and of course the Stark’s ACOG and Blish’s Dot Sight is kind of absurd, from both a gameplay POV and an in universe one.

From the gameplay standpoint, you have a bunch of guns with a bunch of kinds of sights, so naturally people are going to prefer one over another. Even the ability to switch sights around between guns would be pretty sweet. The option to bolt other sights would be an awesome addition because one, if you hate, say, the Hochfir’s sights, no worries, just bolt a holo on it. Secondly, that would add a degree of freelance customization into the game (freelance as opposed to in the confines of what RNG gave your card) that I think A LOT of players really want.

From the in universe view (I’m a lore nerd, deal with it), ok, you’re a merc in 2020. Even modern soldiers that get what their government gives them have ACOGs and holos on their guns, I don’t think that these mercs that are getting paid thousands of credits to kill some people and steal some stuff are gonna run around with nothing on their gun but what the factory put on it.

Finally, that holo magnifier combo on the BR is sexxxyyyy, and I want it.

There is a reason why there isn’t customization on weapons in DB since they want the weapons to be used a certain way. If I’m not wrong, in Closed Alpha, you were able to customize with attachments and many others, similar to Call of Duty. I guess SD wanted to make their game unique and have the players play a certain way to make each merc special.
So I’m not too sure about attachments making into this game again.

I personally don’t care if they add attachments to the game. But I wouldn’t mind some cleaner iron sights on some of the weapons.
