As a medic player I have to admit that I often wait for my teammate to get knocked down to revive them, instead of giving them a medpack / deploying a healing stations / using the healing pulse. The reason is that each revive gets me closer to an XP bonus (“5 revives in a row”, “20 revives in total”, “miracle maker” etc.) while healing when they’re up yields only a relatively small XP gain.
While effective, this tactic is against the team spirit - sometimes it’s very risky not to heal a team mate, because there is always a chance of a random grenade gibbing them instantly due to low HP.
Thus I’d like to propose the introduction of XP bonuses for a total amount of HP healed by healing abilities (i.e. an XP bonus for healing 500 points of HP, 1000 points of HP and 2000 points of HP). This would encourage medics to actually use their medpacks etc. instead of just waiting for their mates to fall to the ground.
Thoughts?
