A question about NGS and the ime 3.0

So I recently got a Windows Intellimouse Explorer, and overclocked it to 1000 mhz polling rate.

Thing is, it requires a little work

Basically I had to disable Driver Signing, and Secure Boot, so I could use the driver needed to do the overclock.

I wanna try out this mouse in game to see if it lives up to the legend, but I don’t wanna get flagged for a ban when I’m not even cheating.

Will NGS ban me for disabling secure boot, disabling driver signing, and being in test mode?

Well, I know @Vampwood and a few other people use an unsigned driver so that they could use Q3-style mouse acceleration and they never had any issues.

NGS shouldn’t pick up anything or care since it’s not directly interacting with the DB executable and unless the driver is used with known bots NGS shouldn’t have a hash that identifies it as a hack.

Maybe Raz could ask the NGS devs but they might have a policy of not releasing that type of information as they like to keep that stuff close to the vest.

You could always make a second Steam account and try it out if you’re really worried.

Also, that mouse shaped my life in a way. The Intellimouse 3.0 and a giant $4 “storage mat” from CompUSA completely changed the way I played FPS games and put me on a road to competitive success while also gaining me friends and contacts I have to this day. However, as much as I respect it for what it did for me, I’ll keep my current mouse

Well part of the reason I wanted to try was because of how much people swear by it, and within a few rounds of Counter Strike I can see why. The sensor is hella accurate, and it has a very raw feel to it.

The only thing I don’t like is the finish on top of the mouse, and the mouse feet it comes with are terrible, my hyper glides should arrive monday.

@Watsyurdeal You should only overclock your mouse to 500hz as it is more stable than 1000hz. Often times you’ll only get like 600 or 800hz even if it’s overclocked to 1000, making it less consistent, and the difference between 1khz and 500hz isn’t as big as 125 to 500.

What’s a decent low budget gaming mouse ? Don’t care for side buttons but the one thumb. Right now I’m using Microsoft Mobile Wireless 4000. Something in that size, maybe a bit bigger is fine.

@Floross

Go there and pick your poison.

All the listed mice have a perfect sensor, just need to look what kind of shape you want and how much you actually want to spent.

@hypnotoad idk, it feels perfect at 1000 hz, and I haven’t had any issues with it malfunctioning.

It would seem very odd if you were banned for something like that, as some mice, like my own Logitech g9x natively support 1000hz polling rates. It’s not as though you are setting up an autoclicker/crazy macro function, so in my estimation you should be fine. I’d be careful about messing around w/ secure boot too much as Microsoft has been a little less than forthcoming regarding forced automatic updates and stuff, which if you have the home version of win10 is even worst. An update could potentially screw up your tweaks, but you probably already know that. Good Luck, and if anything happens, submit a ticket, as a ban for that would be really stupid on the part of the software, glitches notwithstanding.

That is the deepest shit I have seen about a mouse and pad in a long while.

I cry every time.
