I’ve been looking at the loadout cards and curious about them for some time, mainly the primary weapons that they give characters.
Arty is mainly expected to be played at long distances, so most of his loadouts have his Default Dreiss, the Stark/Kira’s default and the BR-16, which are best used at longer ranges.
Skyhammer serves as a closer range counterpart to Arty, as shown by his airstrike serving more as a grenade and not having the range Arty has with his target painter, He has his default M4A1, the Timik-47/Stoker’s default which serves as better close range counterpart to the M4A1 with its higher rate of fire and finally the BR-16, serving as his longer range weapon.
Characters that by default use an SMG have loadouts with nothing other than smgs (So far Bushwacker, Nader, Sawbonez,) but characters with shotguns (So far Fletcher, Aura, Proxy) can also use smgs, but not the Ahnuhld-12
Vasili is the only current Recon class and can use his default MoA, the PDP Aimee’s default and finally the Fel-ix, but not Redeye’s default (It was an m14)
Fragger, Has the K-121 but not his original/Thunder’s current default LMG the MK46, which does lower damage is less accurate, at the price of almost double the ammo capacity and higher rate of fire and possibly a longer reload time if memory of earlier beta’s and alpha testing serve right, but uses two rifles while the M4A1 can be considered a decent sidegrade offering more accuracy than the lmgs but lower ammo capacity, the BR-16 doesn’t really seem to fit Fragger every now and the due to its advantages coming from its use at longer ranges, where Fragger is expected not to be.
My question is, will there be more loadout cards giving SMG focused mercs shotguns, Shotgun focused mercs the Ahnuhld-12, Will Vasili in the future get that m14, will Fragger get the MK46, in future updates, and why do shotgun oriented mercs have smgs available to them?
