A potentially terrible or nice idea for the Fe Lix

  • Increase damage to double of the MoA, allowing it to one shot kill mercs, but more so, gib instantly on headshot.
  • Clip size is now 1
  • New reload animation added, where one giant round is inserted.
  • Reload now takes 3 seconds

Essentially, we’re making the Fe Lix an AWP, but with one shot per clip downside that forces the player to be careful with their positioning, timing, and aim.

Being good with this weapon is all about making sure each shot counts, and making sure you take out targets that are the most likely to cause the most problems for your team.

I like it. I think it would need a test. Felix definitly needs changes

If you’re going to give it a 1 bullet magazine, wouldn’t it be better to just give the FEL-IX a REALLY slow firerate instead, such as taking 3 seconds to rechamber each bullet? I’m just saying, it’d be really weird for a gun that clearly has a magazine to only have one bullet per mag…

Anyway, this is something that would be VERY difficult to balance… Implementing it will be very difficult and the outcome will be very unpredictable. I doubt SD would be willing to take the risk.

Imho they should just buff it’s damage back to 80 and give it headshot instant kills, along with the highest penetration, capable of firing through everyone since I highly doubt SD would tweak it’s reload animation so much.

Although @Watsyurdeal that sounds better like a pure sniper merc, they carry machine pistols and pistols. Their special would be powerful Anti-tank rifle, capable of damaging people and the EV for tons of damage, along with maybe even penetrating through some props like cars.

Actually it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a merc with AMR as an ability, or a fire support even.

Could be interesting.

True, Especially with the fact that Javalin is still floating around and her Rocket Launcher could be pretty much that but with an area of effect.

Even if it was 1 bullet per minute I’d still say no to a 1-bodyshot kill hitscan weapon.

Mate that would be WAY overpowered - unless you also gave it some serious firerate and magazine size nerfs to balance it.

Your idea here is actually a single shot rifle. 1 round then reload. I suggested this on @succinctDeer 's post (I think it was unless it was @ProfPlump 's post) about ideas for Aimee’s sniper rifle.

that’s not STRONK enough, you know what we need? lazer anu.s from the sky but you can use that lazer in your hand like Goku and spam it everywhere while you fly and you’re immune to bullets :P.

I don’t really want this in game. It looks just frustrating to be targeted by it, and I severly doubt it’ll solve Vassili’s status.

its an interesting idea but not so much fun to play against. imo it would be fine if they brought felix to80/160 like it used to, with maybe a small rof nerf; thus not forcing everyone to use felix and giving moa viability if a team isnt facing light merc spam

that was profs post, but we both suggested similar things. I still think it should be done, but as a new weapon and not as a FELIX remake. There are other things they could do to make the felix better.

You mean the Felix having 80 damage? If so not exactly, that’s how it was before being nerfed to 79 damage, it was given 2 more shots per mag to compensate but the generally poorer stats compared to the Moa made the higher damage worth it, as it’d kill everyone via headshots and down 80 HP mercs, (Only Aura at the time) via a body shot.

Not surprisingly these changes were done when the meta was to go Aura because her healing station activated instantly, recovery was quicker and it’s health was and the only AOE damage dealing merc was Fragger.

But I do agree, If Splash Damage were to bring the Felix’s damage back to 80, I wouldn’t see why it shouldn’t have less shots per mag.

You have to realise that both MOA and FEL-IX have been recieving buffs since the removal of the insta-gib. You mentioned the magazine sizes, but you’ve failed to mention the firerate buffs that were implemented (to both rifles). Basically, if the 80 damage FEL-IX was overpowered way back before those buffs, then it would be even MORE overpowered now if they gave it that 80 damage per shot.

That’s why I’m suggesting that, if it were given its 80 damage back, it would need to see some serious magazine size and firerate nerfs.

no getting body shooting from random noob isnt cool, the only thing i dislike in felix is the punch while aiming, moa seems to be lighter
