A little video question...?

I took about 2 minutes of footage in an ET game today. The file extension is dm_42 for the demo/replay, and I have a question:

I have been unable to view it in any movie viewing program: Quicktime, Windows media Player, etc. I am trying to make a short video clip with Arcsoft Showbiz, and I was wondering if it’s possible to import any part of the clip I took and make it part of a .avi or .mov picture…
Just about 10 seconds of the clip is what I’m talking about.

Thx, opus. :bump:

A demo is not a movie file. Its basically a dump of everything that goes on in the game, which the game then recreates when you play it back.

To get an actual movie from it, you need to play the demo back in the game, and either record it using a program such as fraps, or use the “AVI record” (or whatever its called) feature, which will take a screenshot for every frame in the demo. You then have to join the screenshots using an external program, such as Adobe premiere, or Quicktime Pro (you may have to batch convert them all to another format first, since it saves in .TGA format, which quicktime doesnt like  )

what does: ‘this software requires a processor with SSE instructions’ mean when I try to run Fraps!?
