A huge thank you to SD.

Xbox 360 player here. With the recent patch that came out for Xbox 360, the game went from unplayable over half the time to perfect almost all of the time. The patch worked wonders and now the game really shines. Lag is completely gone for myself and my group of friends that I play with. No other issues for me personally.

So, thank you Splash Damage for an awesome patch!

Now, how about a balance patch?

Since SD is recording all of that game data, I’m sure we’ll see some balancing occur, like on Container City and Security Tower.

Technically those two are balanced as they both offset the other. What is no balanced is having Resort be 50/50 without having a Resistance map also being 50/50. Throw in Shipyard and now Resistance has a rather large advantage.

I admit that it would be ideal to have all the maps close to a 50/50 split but in practice having a 70/30 offset by a 30/70 is basically the same thing.

Defense is too strong in this game, at least in the Competition playlist. I feel that in stopwatch the offense should be able to set times.

I wish more people played Stopwatch.

in those few occasional SW games i played rage-quitting tempted me to rage quit too. but i stuck around and had some unbalanced games. definitely fun if you have to even teams…

The balance is that each side has maps where they must defend. You play both sides unless you refuse to play as Security on Container City. More people should take up the challenge. Actually, I have been trying out StopWatch Mode the past few days, and Container City and Security Tower are the ultimate Stop Watch maps. Container City is my favorite map.

I’ve only really played Stopwatch on the OCB/sGs servers - and while those guys are around, it’s almost as much fun as it used to be on their ET:QW server  Sadly the fact that some people do ragequit - and obviously some just leave, rage-free - does sometimes spoil the fun, especially in Stopwatch mode. It’s still the best mode for polishing that map knowledge/tactic though  I actually think some newer players encounter Stopwatch without realising, don’t take note of what’s happening (i.e. the team they’re currently on), and then think that the server is stuck on one map when the next round starts  heh. Thats the thing, often when full human groups get together and hoping everyone is on the side with their friends not many leave cause they want to be in the full match with friends ratehr then back out for a few min rest or to change/upgrade tings and join another match. So alot of times its the same core of people from map to map to map and it gets tiresome playing the same side for hours on end.
Would love to find some nice groups to play stop watch with cause it really shows who did better that map and who was the most efficient not to mention you would need to play each map twice before anything would have to be repeated. Nothing better then playing against the clock and not just for the W or L, ups the intensity a notch especially when its two teams who know what they are doing.

Aye, that’s a very good point  I guess for me, the sweet spot would be… 4 (double) rounds maybe? If both your team and the competition are “comfortable” with the game, it can be still be fun for an hour or two for me  Organisation is key I suppose - you’ll always get the best result if you can actually organise a couple of groups to go up against each other. Then at least, you can arrange the play time or number of rounds, so it’s consistent teams for the duration.
