A Few Words On Casual Matchmaking
This is like preparing for a cross-country trip and everyone is arguing & discussing fine-tuning a pair of rollerskates.

You don’t develop a crappier way to play a multiplayer game when the better way has already been invented. Dedicated servers. You make money. MONEY. That’s what you guys are in this for. WE WILL RENT THEM FROM YOU. $$$$$ Capiche?

Too bad… such a waste of potential.
Rented servers does nothing to fix the balance issues. This game has a huge skill ceiling compared to games like TF2 and ARMA because being good at the game relies on a huge amount of factors, not just aiming well or compensating for recoil, such as your footplay, spatial awareness, how well and how fast you can move around the map, being aware and capable of spotting people trying to flank, being able to lock down or clear areas, and being able to support your team in some way.

As such, it’s not a simple case of picking a crowd of people you enjoy playing with, it’s balancing matches by taking in a huge amount of factors like type of merc played, playstyle, how well and consistently you play, and how well you fill your role, then matching together people who are similarly skilled in accomplishing their objective and filling their niche, and this is the best feasible way to do this quickly and efficiently.

For some reason, people love to bring this up when discussing balancing the game, but this is not capitalism, this is not even an economy problem, putting everything in the hands of the public will not fix balance issues through competition, it’ll change very little and possibly even make balance issues worse through server memberships and pay-to-access servers. If you’ve ever played competitive matchmaking, you’d have found that it was actually a really good system. Perhaps it wasn’t innovative because games like CSGO have successfully done it before, but it worked and it worked pretty well.

dedicated servers allow likeminded and like-skilled players to gather. immediately you would find servers for high level comp tryhards cropping up, servers for good+ players who enjoy focused teamwork, with good admins shuffling when necessary, and preventing obvious stacks, and average servers that are still much more likely to gather good teamwork and friendly atmosphere than a current toxic pub.

most importantly, sucking the majority of high lvl players out of the general populace, prevents hardcore stomps, and lets 1-10lvl players enjoy their own company
