seeing Cliff’s video I actually changed my mind. For new players this system is very good improvement but the truth is that vets got screwed. Especially those who already poured lots of cash in the game. I guess I won’t be trading up from higher rarities and wait until this gets fine tuned.
A Few Words (and Numbers!) on Loadout Card Crafting & Recycling
Is anyone going to buy silvers and golds anymore? They are a really really bad investment even if you buy them at the new cheaper price. People might play with them if they happen to get a good one from a case drop, but that’s it. You lose on the craft fee and then you lose again by getting fewer fragments back.
Additionally, people who already have golds just got screwed even more. The investment we were required to make to get to cobalt just turned into squat.
Gold cards just dropped in value from
0.1667 cobalts -1667 credits
to
0.1075 cobalt -5000 credits
At best we just lost 30% of our investments. The credits amounting to a couple of cases each are just icing.
You could really stand to do something like give more fragments for breaking down cards created before the change. At this point the long road ahead to cobalts just got so much longer that I don’t even care, this game will be dead before I get even my three most played cards in cobalt.
I do like this new system, even tho i was one gold away from my first cobalt trade-up, but i do really find it penalizing for low rank rarities. I think price should be lowered (especially credits) all around, but especially for iron and bronze. Iron imho shouldn’t even cost a cent in credits. You already lose fragments if you are a new player and craft an iron, just to destroy it some time later to craft a bronze. And bronze should be lower because that’s the peasant’s rarity. Imho it shouldn’t be higher than 1000 credits (possibly 750).
Why should cost any less to purchase low rarity loadouts? Remember that to get a Bronze BEFORE this patch it used to cost you around 7,000 for the required equipment cases (since if you get 7 cases you’re likely to get 6 leads and 1 iron) and then you have to pay 500 for two iron tradeups and then 1000 for the Bronze tradeup. That’s 9,000 for a Bronze.
Whereas with the NEW system, buying 7 cases and getting that same combination of 6 leads and 1 iron will recycle together to make 135 fragments, which just happens to be the exact amount you need to craft a Bronze. Add the 1,500 credit cost for the Bronze craft and that comes to 8,500 credits for a Bronze.
The cost for Bronze cards is almost exactly the same as it used to be.

And i do find it being too pricey especially for new players, hence the suggestion of lowering it.
To me the whole point of changing the system was to get the cards you want. Saying that the weapon selection is “vanity” misses the thrust of what we want. I know which weapons fit my style of play. So I only want cards with those weapons. But I can’t get the weapons kits I need; and 45? Just to pick my preferred weapon?
Sensing sarcasm, but no. We won’t implement drops via that method again.[/quote]
thank god. we ALL know that system was just broken.
I was ready for a cobalt trade up (i had 5 golds and 3 silvers) and i woke up to this…
I don’t even want to read the first page, because that’s just too much for my little brain ( ̄(工) ̄)
