A few things that would improve the crafting system greatly.

  1. Remove Credit Cost from the equation, just make it the fragment cost, or just get rid of fragment cost altogether, and just have us use credits for EVERYTHING.

  2. Skin Kits, these look like Paint Cans, and can be used to pick a specific skin or color for your card, Bamboo Gold, Swiss Red, or Crown Gold for example.

  3. You can buy Weapon Kits, Crafting Kits, and Skin Kits, with credits or cash, instead of having to wait for them to drop from another damn case.

Look, bottom line is, we want the cards we want, it’s not about the loadout itself we can get Bronze, it’s not about the rarity it means JACK SHIT, we want the skins! We want our character and gun to look cool.

Stop making it so difficult, THAT is what is driving your audience away.

I really like what I read here. However there’s a small oversight : without any crafting cost, there wouldn’t be any point about having crafting kits (those allows you to craft without using credits).

(Orivar) #3

That sounds really good, mostly number 3

(watsyurdeal) #4

Yea I realize that, personally I like the idea of using those for Crafting only, instead of credits, we can just buy them with credits, cash, get them as a drop from matches, etc.

(Ohsnapkline) #5

overall the total cost for everything gold and up is much higher, this change was only made to sell crafting kits. in general there is much better ways to monetize on cosmetics than this, just look at games like Dota2 and CS:GO (whole gambling controversy aside).

this new crafting system was poorly implemented (though I believe intentionally) and needs changed, and changing it only fixes a symptom the cause is that cosmetic appearance is tied to loadouts and There is no reason for it. SD Needs to bite the bullet and introduce new ways to customize Merc appearances and just sell those (I’ve spent hundreds on Dota 2 skins).

If only the devs were as passionate as you @Watsyurdeal to make this game right…

(XavienX) #7

Or just decrease the cost of everything could possibly fix it. Right now the only plus I have for this system is for getting me a MO11 gold on my first try, unfortunately it is not Swiss but Bamboo but it’ll do for my upgrade from bronze.

(TheStrangerous) #8

The cost could remain the same as it was before. I’d be fine with that.

(BananaSlug) #9

that is basically what i had in mind for past week (maybe not point nr. 3)

(BananaSlug) #10

soo knowing that 1 recycle point is “worth” 16,23 we can do obvious stuff like that
i will take gold for example
the craft cost is 25.000c
25000/16,23=1540,3 lets say 1550
3200+1550=4750

the trade in for gold would look great with that

4750*16,23=77000c for one gold

but there is also one wired thing

lead is worth 45 recycle points
45*16,23=730c

soo lead is worth 730c not 1000

not sure how to feel about that all

(Reddeadcap) #11

I think the credit prices are a bit high but that’s just coming from someone who spent most of his credits on cases and has enough fragments for about 8 Cobalt cards.

(PleasantWheat) #12

@Redcap This also bothers me greatly

(Terminal_6) #13

This doesn’t change the system but they could merge the “Recycle” page with the main Loadouts page. There’s enough room to fit the “recycling box” and crafting button on the same page. It can’t be that hard to minimize clicks.

(Reddeadcap) #14

@Watsyurdeal

  1. I could imagine just lowering or removing the credits needed since the fragment system was just added so theres no point into removing it, I think the middle man in this situation should be toolkits, which could be for credits along with their irl money price prechasable and drop every so often.

  2. Yeah, like just make these rare event drops so players can create their own loadout cards while making confirmed skin drops a tad more common during a seasonal event, instead of making a skin based on a special event be 0.000000000001 chance in a lifetime.

IRON is worth 45 fragments. LEAD is worth 15. Which means leads are worth 244…
If you were to get a lead OR an iron, then you were getting less fragments (valuewise) than it cost to get buy the dang equipment case.

(frostyvampire) #16

@Eox
So there’s no need in them, they can be removed. ez pz
And if anyone already had crafting kits they can get weapon kits instead

(MilkyBear) #17

Yes, please ?

(neverplayseriou) #18

Meanwhile I got the mo22 and mo11 in silver but both weren’t carbon .-.

(B_Montiel) #19

Honestly I don’t think it’s in their plan right now. Everything they’ve added or changed on the loadouts/crates system has always been based on a fixed credits/cash/whateverunit conversion rate. So does the new system. Maybe to avoid scamming long time players who put large amount of money in the early days.

@Watsyurdeal : Weapon kits are currently one of the only thing you can’t either buy with credits or real cash. Which is not respecting their original politics, and also don’t go in their favour. Considering it might be an horrendous grind to get enough weapon kits for a gold or a cobalt, I don’t think they’ve planned it that way. That’s the only real advantage of the new system, but you can only benefit from it by… Grinding for days. We’re probably losing on that, but I think they’re further losing than we are. I suppose that’s in their mind to make them obtainable either with credits/real cash at some point. Probably they need some inputs prior to implement this just to fix a pricing which is fair for us and substantial for them.

(BananaSlug) #20

@Xenithos darn, stupid me did something wrong as always
