A few Questions

Alright, I’ve got a few questions,

im trying to turn a tirgger_hurt on/off, and so far i’ve done that, however, i want to be able to have a lever they pull to trigger it, not just a func_invisble_user, how would I go about doing this?

second, it it possible to create brush so that you can see through it one way and not the other way?

i was thinking nodraw but it didnt work

@1 You could make a func_button to be the trigger, it moves. Or you can keep it that way, but make there a script_mover and script it to behave as you want when you want. Basicly when you trigger func_inv._user, it would trigger the lever to move. Debends on how you want your lever to move. If I did understand this one right.

@2 It is possible with nodraw! But now you are able to walk through it. You can place there another brush with clipweap or try to use clipweap instead of nodraw (haven’t tested), if you wanna make the wall solid. We used to make hidden holes to the walls with nodraw. Give nodraw to all sides first. Then Give ONE side another texture. It WORKS 100% sure.

  1. i’ve checked v1.4 and v1.5 and neither show a func_button

  2. ill have to try that out, i forgot to mention, in addition to being tansparent on one side and not on the other, id also like to allow bullets to pass on one side and not the other

  1. DL the newest 1.5.0 (26.04.07) or upgrade your entities.

  2. I don’t think it’s possible to pass other side but not the other. You could done it blocked on both sides or not block at all. common/clip to block player but not bullets, common/clipweap to block bullets and the player.

  2. what if i put a clipwep on only one side of the brush?

3 new) me and a friend are working on this, and we’ve been sending .bsp’s back and forth, now were sending it to get it hosted, hence it needs to be in .pk3 form, however i’ve made the .pk3 similar to maps in my etmain folders (arena file, textures folder, ect) so ill go into ET, Host a server and try to load my map but it isnt listed, and when i look in console, ET shows it loaded it…

Keep what you already have.

Make a script mover for the lever, then add to the script in the func_invisible_user to rotate the level up the up/on down/off (whatever) positions.

It probably isn’t the same. I’d still suggest to try out the 1.5.0 I show you. I guess there’s older version in the GTK’s site. (If the site still works). So go dl the newest nightly from the site I showed you.

I don’t believe it would work but why are you asking such things, go try them!

The arena file must be inside the scripts folder, and I think it needs to have same name as bsp. Also I think you need to have the map “blabla” to have the same name too. And sometimes I guess capital letters ruins up stuff.
