A few questions about the Extraction Alpha

(FireWater) #1

Hi all, my name is FireWater, and I am from http://www.vexxgaming.com .

We are searching for a new PC FPS to play competitively, and right now its kind of slim pickens. FireFall was promising, but ultimately crapped out, CS:GO is great but isn’t really the style of shooter to play, and CoD is well… CoD. Honestly I’m not too sure what else is out there.

I saw some extraction footage, and the game looks like it is a lot of fun, beit a bit raw. I am considering purchasing the alpha, I just have a few questions, that perhaps either community members if appropriate or developers themselves can answer.

  1. How often are the Alpha servers up. Are they closed concentrated tests, or are they open 24/7.

  2. How much if any, does this game resemble W:ET ET:QW and Brink.

  3. Will a founder’s purchase provide Nexon cash to buy additional in game assets?

  4. Is there a tentative release date?

  5. the $120 purchase guarentees instant access to alpha, and priority access to the beta, does that mean Alpha testers are not automatically entered in the beta when it does come out?

I apologize if some of these questions have been answered before, I did try to do some digging and really couldn’t find any answers.

Thanks in advance!

1: 24/7
2: depends on who you talk to, me, I think ET, but didn’t play QW or Brink
3: not afaik
4: no
5: no they are auto in afaik

Another question, do the bullets go where the crosshair is

(Nail) #4

similar to W:ET we’re under NDA so can’t elaborate

(FireWater) #5

Fair enough please understand I’m not trying to fish for information that is classified I’m just trying to justify the money to purchase the alpha package

(Seanza) #6

You can buy the $30 pack which gains you access to view multiple videos of the game so you can get a better look at it yourself (you’ll have to agree to the NDA too). People who have bought this pack have also gained access to the alpha relatively shortly after.

Answers to the questions you’ve asked are pretty locked in by the NDA. I don’t want to risk my status by providing you with any further info. Sorry!

Hey, I know you!

Although the “worth” of the founder’s pack is pretty subjective, I just bought the Legendary Founder’s Pack on Saturday and am so far satisfied with the money spent. And what I played at PAX definitely showed a good amount of what they’re going for in terms of team play and the “feel” of it. Plus if you can drag along the rest of Vexx, more players is never a bad thing.

Yessir! Whats up man.

Also now that I know you are working on this game, I think I will pass…

jkjkjkjk  I trust you Crispy, I am going to get the Immediate Access Alpha today.

Also CptFancyPants

I’m glad you had a good time at PAX, its nice to see PC FPS come back, I mean right now competitive PC FPS players are the “hipster” of online gaming.

We are definitely looking for a game, FireFall is a tough community for me to leave, I have 2600+ posts on their forums, but they are focusing on PvE because quite frankly, it pays the bills. I read the quarterly reports from their parent company, and its not looking good for them and they need FireFall to be a commercial success. I love Red 5 as a studio, and I want them to be a massive success. The problem is I don’t really PvE, and their crafting system gives me a headache. so what it comes down to, is again I am searching for another FPS to play, and my team is as well.

Who knows though, I may have to recruit from within the game to get a good team. I’ve found that sometimes dragging other players over doesn’t necessarily work out so well. Vexx has been doing great things in Smite and Infinite Crisis, and we are going to have a large presence at PAX East.

Also will Splash Damage be at PAX East?

Firefall’s current state aside (definitely a discussion, but probably not best suited here) I think you and the team will enjoy what SD has going on here. There’s not the added headache of trying to make a competitive shooter alongside an MMO PVE experience, so that definitely helps. If you do end up getting the Legendary Pack and are looking for someone to play with, just shoot me a message.

There is still time, I mean it didn’t even officially launch yet.

(FireWater) #14

They are over 20 million in debt and investors are pulling out

(FireWater) #15

But anyways I think I will put in the $120 for instant alpha participation I am looking for leads to this game

Where would I go to check out those videos? I am also coming from firefall and have the $30 pack. I’m waiting to get in and play but wouldn’t mind checking out some videos in the meantime.

(DB Genome editor) #17

Any of the packs should give you access to the Video Updates section of the closed alpha forums. You should have gotten an invite via email, but you can also try logging out of the forums and logging back in to see if the video section shows up on the forums home page.

If all else fails, you should PM Badman.

(TiLter-) #18

Thanks, haven’t seen any emails and already relogged back into the forums so I sent Badman a PM.
