ever since i read about this game i thought it had a mode very similar to the SW:Battlefront series, is it just mission based gameplay? also if i only play online does it have zero replay value? :stroggtapir:
a few noob questions
-
Every game mode is based on the same set of missions. One team advances, the other defends.
The attackers push forward by capturing command posts, blowing up walls (soldier), building new things (engineer), hacking doors open (operative) and so on. -
I don’t understand the second question.

thank you alot for answering my first question, sounds great and sorry kinda tired and was not paying attention what i ment was if i am only an offline player will that mean the game will have no replay value for me?
I think the offline has more replayability then those recent 5 hour games which are fully scripted. Nothing is really scripted, AI is fully dynamic and acts different each time you play. And every time you play singleplayer you can be a different class, bodytype, take different routes etc. I would say it’s quite replayable.
That depends on the quality of the AI and bot implementation. Apparently they are supposed to be pretty good. Of course there may be some errors here and there (similar to playing with me…I’m in the game…but my actions may not seem like I’m a logical, intelligent human). Regardless, many of the previews from the press have stressed how seemless the integration of the bots were and also that it was…and this is a summarized quote from MANY press previews…“it was difficult to tell the difference between human and AI controlled characters.”
So, it shouldn’t matter that you are only an offline player. Also, sounds like a great way to solidify your skills before jumping online with the human community.
Lastly, the online matchmaking engine is based on level. So theoretically you’ll be matched with players with similar skill sets. Once you reach a certain level, the matchmaking will prevent you from playing at the lower levels.
wont have zero replay value, but the game would really open up and would probably be more enjoyable online(imo). But u can play offline mulitple times and still have fun, as each time u play it will be different due to different team builds and scenarios
thank you everyone for your replies, looking like i might get this just one more question, each faction has obvious diffrences in storyline and such but are they diffrent stats wise? like i dont want there to be one faction that is way better than the other but i would like to see some stats diffrence or is that just down to character customisation?
There’s no differences in statistics. Their only actual difference is the role they fulfil on each map.

To caveat that…you can play each faction in their respective story modes.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong,
but even if you are online, if you are playing “campaign” mode, you will not progress to a different map if your team loses. If other players are not playing in “campaign” mode, you will either be joined by others or you will migrate to another game that is playing the level appropriate to your timeline in the story. This prevents you from playing the campaign out of order…however, I remember Richard or Paul stating (can’t remember which but could have been both as well) that you don’t HAVE to play chronologically to understand the story. But the option is there if you want it (offline or online).
Wrong-ish. Also right-ish.
If you’re playing Campaign mode, then you can only join Campaign servers. If you win on a campaign server, you stay. If you lose, you find another server (automatically, at least for console users).
Non-Campaign mode uses identical maps with the same objective structure, but doesn’t have to be in order, and is unlocked from the beginning.
Yeah, stats are the same across the board, but customization is definitely different. I believe even the weapons will look different (i.e. same gun looks different between Security and Resistance).
Customization of guns is the same, they just use different skins and sounds.
If you have an ACOG on your Rokstedi when you’re Security, and then you switch over to Resistance, you can (will?) have that exact same Rokstedi.
Yeah, that’s what I meant. The security guns look nice and new, while the resistance guns look worn and taped together.
thanks its hard for me to decide which faction to use i guess i’ll just play both campaigns and see which i would rather, AI is really key for me here but it sounds like they are good also sorry for another question but on a video i saw the mode freeplay on the menu what is that?
the campaigns arent long its 2-3 hours for each side.
freeplay means that you play single levels without having to play it in a specific order.
there are as well challenges where you can unlock clothes and weapons (?)
Apparently online play has a huge replay value and may even be an E-sport, with as much potential as it has…
As for the missions, each mission is like a level from the campaign, when you play online you can choose which part of the campaign basically, to pick up on…
thanks i expected campaign mode to be quite short so thats fine, as long as the AI can prove a challenge then this game will be fun
