A fansite dedicated to Dirty Bomb and the community

(ImageOmega) #1

Just finished posting a new article and I thought it was a good time to post the site here.

This is a fansite I had been working on and really excited to get it out there. I know the game isn’t even in beta yet, but I had a lot of reasons to get this site up and there is never any time like the present!

I feel very fortunate to have already received the feedback I have including an official shout out on the Dirty Bomb FaceBook page.

My main purpose of putting together this site is to help jump start the idea behind a strong community for Dirty Bomb. While, Dirty Bomb progresses itself, I will be posting articles on what helps create a game the community can get behind and hopefully some Dirty Bomb news as it happens.

The site is called DirtyBombers.

Here’s the link! http://dirtybombers.com/

I’d love to hear any thoughts or feedback you may have for me. Thanks!

nice Page Dude. I need a Link Us Button. 88px × 31px

I registered on the site. It looks pretty good in general, however I’d suggest to get a decent forums engine. The one which is on Dirty Bombers at the moment is totally crappy. phpBB3, SMF, XenForo, vBulletin, IP.Board… There are many much better solutions!

Thanks for the many kind words! I am excited to be able to work on the site and knowing what people think definitely helps push me in the right direction.

I’ll see what I can do about that link us button. =)

As far as forum choice, I definitely agree. And, even yesterday, I was looking over vBulletin and checking out demos of other particular forums. I know that I definitely want a forum for the site for when content and discussions really do kick off, but the early stage of things was holding me back on choices. I am currently using bbPress as a quick alternative (and free). I think there is quite a bit more styling I can add to it, but I think having a fully fleshed out server package like vBulletin will eliminate the need for a lot of that. Not to mention the forums just look bland at the moment due to lack of content and dull styling. When things kick off I will definitely look into popping in vBulletin, but maybe in the mean time I’ll keep phpBB on the top of my mind.

Thanks again!

A new blog post has been added:

Check out brand-new Dirty Bomb fan site Dirty Bombers!

Forumite and Dirty Bomb Founder ImageOmage has launched DirtyBombers, a brand-new fan site for Dirty Bomb. The site already features a comprehensive assortment of information about the game, including classes, games modes, and setting, and ImageOmega regularly writes interesting editorials focused on particular areas of multiplayer gaming, including live streaming, community building, and class design. It’s good stuff all around - have a look!
