A couple of questions

1.How do you get a mg42 to be mountable say on a window and where is it in the models folders?

2.Is there an easier way to do terrain than easygen because i find that really hard to do

Thats it for the moment I’ll post some more when i come across them

The static mg42’s in game are entities “misc_mg42” or if you want to create a constructible mg42 nest this thread will help.

i don’t know of an easier way to create terrain but easygen is not really that difficult, most of the available tutorials are outdated/rtcw related but still useful, do a search on this forum as well and you will find a lot of information on the changes

i never used easygen yet. So far what i’ve been doing which seems easy to me is to select a brush the size of the landscape you want(u should plan where u r to put buildings first)lay it over a brush, hit simple patch mesh in curve and select numbers 3-15 which will make it one sided with some vertices depending how big the numbers. Then select the simple patch mesh, hit the v key, and use that mouse to rasie those points up and down for some nice easy terain.(its harder this way to create sharp points, its better for hills).

That is a really good way to do terrain ive done it now but can you get rid of the grid on the 2d drawing frame because i can’t really do much else now i can’t see the grid properly :frowning:

doing that with a mesh is not really a good idea, you can’t cut a mesh so it will be difficult to build your buildings into it and there are some other issues with it, i’d really suggest to use easygen
