A cooldown on Nader's martydom.

I’m thinking putting it on a minute long cooldown like Phoenix’s self revive.

Biased poll.

One of Naders main strengths is area denial, and that includes her Martyrdom.

If there’s a bunch of guys on the first bombsite on underground and you’re rushing right in there, they better run!

After they did the change to martydom I only got 3 kills with martydom in 3 hours of pure gameplay. Whoever gets killed by this skill is just not paying any attention to his surroundings and instead is busy killing other people or something.

This skill is only really useful for avoiding to get finished off by a melee weapon so there is no change necessary. What about playing Nader yourself and see how many kills you would get while playing only as suicide bomber?

The no reply should only state “no”, not that extra bullshit.

The Nader martyrdom issue was extensively debated months ago, when she was released. How she shouldn’t have it, how the range was too OP, etc, etc.

BUT, the conclusion was this:

Nader’s martyrdom is a “hand to the fire” kind of knowledge. You first join DB without any knowledge that the fire can burn you and then you get burned by touching it a couple of times and start associating fire with pain and never touch it again.

Nader’s martyrdom is exactly the same. It only really works against newcomers or in certain sparse situations in which she doesn’t get finished off by whoever killed her and an unknowing ally rushes around a corner where she is lying. An experienced player, or even just someone who died a couple of times to her with martyrdom will know not to try and knife her and will finish her off.

In min level 10 servers there are barely any martyrdom kills when using Nader, so it’s not OP or anything, it’s just an annoyance that you need to deal with and remember. I like it, because it’s an instant reminder of your poor memory or stupidity when you die to a martyrdom once you know Nader has it. No need to change it.

git gud scrub

Sorry, it’s just so amusing see enemies’ muscle memory try to stab me.

No, but at this point a cooldown on Nader might literally be a buff to her. After Martyrdom received a completely unneeded nerf it is almost impossible to land a Martyrdom kill. Putting it on a long cooldown would temporarily remove the temptation to use Martyrdom and result in Naders being more frequently revived.

But better yet, Martyrdom just needs to have the nerf reverted.

Lumi, you make it seem like my poll is somehow untrue. When you are incapacitated as Nader, do you not get a kill when you press F and another player is close enough to be hit by it? I certainly do when an oblivious players get to close.

I rarely die to her martydom, but there are times where I see naders make desperate attempts to get close to players on my team without making any attempt to use her grenade launcher or smgs. They usually end up with the worst kdr in the match which is unfortunate because she can dominate in the right hands.

If I’m at low hp and/or the area is a small, enclosed area there are times she manages to snag a kill on me, I roll my eyes and move on.

And it is untrue. I could press F and kill one person or I could wait to be revived and get another 15 kills. Using Martyrdom takes away your ability to be revived and thus, is not free.

You can’t blame a merc and his/her abilities because of some poor players. Furthermore, suicide martyrdom is a perfectly valid way of dealing with a situation. For instance, I never have negative KD with Nader and I occasionally use her martyrdom as an advantage. Just yesterday I was getting ammo at the ammo cache of the first objective in Trainyard and three enemies come rushing in. All on my own, with half my health bar gone I just made sure I ended up dying in the most central position to the three of them and sure enough I got two kills out of my martyrdom.

I’m not saying your poll is untrue, but it is, as said before, definitively biased. You make it sound like if you’re against changing martyrdom, then you’re a noob that only wants free kills. I disagree on that way of creating a poll. It should be neutral. Why didn’t you write the yes option as yes, I am feeling salty about repeatedly dying to martyrdom?

Now there are a few unfair situations in which martyrdom gets an undeserved kill, but there are many times as well (I’ve experienced it so often as medic) where a Nader drops martyrdom while there was no need to anymore and she ends up missing out on a revive, because she gibbs herself. As someone else also said, including a cool down for her martyrdom, would just make it less of an automatism and would make it more deadly while allowing her to be revived more often.

Also, I much rather want to have the knowledge that a Nader can always drop a martyrdom than me having to guess if she’s on cool down and safe to knife or not. Gameplay wise it would not change a lot for experienced players as they wouldn’t risk knifing her and always keep their distances. The only reward would be for those who forget and go knife her and through sheer luck get her on her cool down. I dislike removing that instant karma feature.

Finally, if you’d be facing me in my Nader, 80% of the time I survive longer than 1min between deaths, making the cool down absolutely useless in those cases. And if you increase the cool down any further than you might just go as far as completely removing the ability. In the end I am sticking to my guns. I was one of those thinking that martyrdom was OP in the past, but once I learned to avoid it, now I maybe die once to it in a month of playing. I’m not someone to say “git gud”, but this is one of those rare situations where it actually fits. Learning that she shouldn’t be knifed is easy enough for everyone to get, it doesn’t require skill, just good sense. So everyone should be able to reach that level easily, including you and everyone who voted yes in this poll.
