no one? Nothing?

This would probably get more hits on the Bethesda forum. I tend to get the overall vibe that most of the people here are the PC community, and we ALL know how they feel about Brink.

Might send videos to you at some point haven’t made any videos in months and deleted all my old ones so time for a new start I guess

And we’re also fine with making our own channels

I think the biggest difference between this forum and the other official BRINK forum (beside the fact of who maintains each) is that this one was here before BRINK and has a large number of Enemy Territory “die hards” who for some reason want to hate on BRINK and troll in these forums. Then in the Bethesda forums the old timers are from RPG games and they are such rabid fan boys of their games that they can’t stand us even being there. Skyrum hasn’t even been released and even on the day of RAGE’s release there were more post in Skyrim forums than in RAGE. Same goes for BRINK it was barely a blip on the post count when it released compared to the rabid posting about the “Precious” (Skyrim).

So BRINK doesn’t truely have it’s own community we are like the new kid in school and we’re not even a jock!

Wow. feel the love from the console players =/

And the ET die hards were most likely the first people to buy and support Brink btw. The reason why they’re so vocal now is because they’re the most dissapointed. Whereas the console players never knew who SD were to begin with (in general, barring some of the cross platform guys) since there was only ever a single half-assed port done by another company of a previous SD game.

Noone in this community wants to hate Brink. They want to love it but it’s not letting them.

Can you please do.

I’ve known of splash damage before they went “pro” back when they were making levels and MODs for the Quake community, hell I used to play on line with one of the mappers and BETA test his Quake levels, so I have followed them for a long time and I love BRINK and I find it more enjoyable than anything with an ET on front of it. One of the main reasons it’s great is because it is their first game from concept to release not a MOD or game with some one else’s brand.

For my style of play and what I do it’s damn near perfect.

My point was more about the communities here and at the bethesda boards. I have never seen a community around a game with as much negative post in my life. When normal people don’t like something they usually go to the forums where they DO like something.

And then there’s the hating on the console gamers. If you could play BRINK on the XBox I’d bet you would be surprised how good it really is. I played the PC version on the free weekend on Steam and while I liked the ability to have screenshots and console commands with custom configs they movement and aiming was horrible when compared to ETQW so I think you opinion is based most likely on your experience in the PC version. On the 360 I have zero complaints myself.

The problem is you’re seen as a ‘hater’ if you don’t feel the same way as those that love it.

You just said yourself that you’re a long time player of SD mods and games, makes sense that a few are. I’m here for the users, the discussions and the general banter… I’m not here to discuss a single subject, but regardless of my stance on Brink, it’s certainly caused some interesting debates. This whole ‘if you don’t like it gtfo’ stance is utter nonsense. Again a few users were brought here purely because of Brink, and for some reason think that’s why we’re all here, and anyone should leave if they don’t like Brink.

That puts you in the unique position where you can see the PC players POV, a couple of the console players on here have a good experience with the console version and automatically expect it to be good on the PC… and somehow can’t comprehend why it’s not, so as soon as something negative is said they immediately jump on the defensive.

To counter your point, I don’t see why those that love the game stick around on the ‘haters’ threads and provide nothing towards the discussion and help derail it.

Most people that come from ET and ETQW (their fan base) are even more dissapointed in that. Feeling as if SD turned towards the console market and left their PC community behind. Especially when during development they showed 0 PC footage and talked about how they all got it under control cause they know PC (controls) and could finish that AFTER everything for the consoles was done (aka control system).

I hope you don’t think I am saying “GTFO” I’m simply saying life is to short to waste time worrying about things you don’t like. Just stay away from things and people you don’t like is all I’m saying not GTFO.

I’m saying that you should not waste a single precious moment of your life on negative stuff life is too short. Happyiness doesn’t find you you have to find it, and if you didn’t find it in BRINK you shouldn’t waste too much time on it.

If you’re under the illusion that any of this “banter” you are having is helping anyone, then I wish you good luck sir! I hope you find what you’re looking for.

(DarkangelUK) #14

I’m more curious of those that think posting on a forum is some massive chore that maybe takes me away from a job of curing cancer or something. It’s no great stressful endeavour, but if you think I’m being purposely negative or ‘trolling’ then you’re wrong, and I would hope my feedback would give the devs insight into what went want wrong so they can improve the current game or not make the same mistake again. I care for the future of SD, and I want them to make games that make me care for them… if you think I or others are out to bash for the sake of bashing then you’re sorely mistaken… another misconception the newer folks here seem to have.

(iezza) #15

Darkangel, i understand. but shut up or GTFO, cos your going very OT

We may find it in their next game after all the feedback we have given them, plus I’m sure some others around here also visit this site for the other sections and like to dip their toes in here when visiting.

Look, anyone that defends brink must give me footage by 24 hours from today. or i will declare you a fanboy.
