9 v 7 spectator glitch (8v8)

So I played a game today, attacking on Bridge.

We had 7 players, the enemy had 8 and 1 person was spectating - well that’s what the tab button said.

Someone on my team asked the guy to stop spectating and leave, or join our team so we could have even teams.

The guy said WTF I am defending.

And he sure was, doing a great job.

So the enemy team had 9 while we had 7. The HUD showed that they only had 8, but all were getting points.

One of the enemy left, I pressed tab and sure enough the ‘spectator’ was now on the enemy team, leading the team.

A m8 of mine tried to join, but the game said it was full. We played out the game, when it went back to lobby the auto join put my m8 in the game.

I’m not sure how common this is, I’ve never seen it before, but it’s probably something to try recreate and fix if possible.

I am 99.99% sure that the guy who was listed as a spectator was not cheating or glitching in any way.

I am quite offtopic here but i hate the spectator system. When you find a troll who joins as spectator and refuses to quit / join game. I do not understand why spectator cannot have extra slot or two. Or is it because of some potential spying? Then make temporary service.

You’ve managed to take a screenshot?

I did not take a screenshot.

Probably should have but I was working my ass off, they had 9 we had 7 lol.

I love how people lose their minds over spectators

But seriously, specs shouldn’t take up a game slot. They should be like a queue; first spectator autojoins a team when that team loses a player, maybe make up to 5 spectator slots.

This has happened once to me as well. It was quite a while ago and I never reported it. It might have been in Execution (8v6), but I can’t remember. It was a temporary thing though as someone left the game and then after that it corrected itself.

Happened to me too yesterday.

The guy at the bottom was not speccing, he was defending.

I should have probably mentioned that when this happened to me, it wasn’t the same as your situation. No one was spectating, but the teams appeared to be 8v6 in Execution (which 8 players on one team isn’t possible, max is 7v7). This only happened once so there’s not much else I remember. I do know it fixed itself once someone left the game though.

It’s annoying when someone trolls your game because of a lousy system? Had someone do it because they wanted to be on the winning team and because we weren’t winning they just took up the spot…someone on the other team was nice enough to switch over and seconds later the spectator went onto the winning team.
