8v8... or 5v5?

Does anyone else feel that 8v8 is just not balanced on the maps that SD has created? The maps are so small, and the objective areas can get pretty out of hand, and with the fast respawn rates, it doesn’t feel right to me.

I haven’t personally tried 5v5 or 6v6 yet, but those who have, what’s your opinion on it, compared to 8v8.

I think 8v8, or higher will be viable once we get map editors and the community makes maps that are better suited to more players.

8v8 is too low player count for me. I want 16vs16 at least lol

5 vs 5 would suit the console versions right now, I posted as much but it got buried.

I can remeber W: ET public servers with 15vs.15, it was… 1 big mess :smiley: :riflenade:
Brink maps seems to be even smaller.

5 v 5 is more competitive, like it will require more skill out of the classes, but 8 v 8 is fine, 16 v 16 sounds amazing fun! :smiley: Too bad the 360 can barely hold a solid 60 FPS with 8 v 8 though… :frowning:

The maps would be fine for 16v16. Every map has multiple ways and people would actually utilize them instead of going the same hallway every time.

Played a 3v3 tonight that was a ton of fun. 1 reg medic, 1 light Engy, 1 Heavy Engy on defense. Lights and regs attacking, went down to the wire.

anything less than 6v6 is lame. please keep it to the roots of rtcw,w:et,etqw and keep 6v6…remember this is not cod

Why do people always imply that more players = better / more skill?

More players turns the game into a chaotic mess of random events. Not skill. And this game can barely handle 8v8 how in the world could you even suggest they should up it to 16v16. I mean they LITERALLY wouldn’t be able to fit 32 people in the map without everyone touching elbows they are so small.

I agree that even 8v8 is too many people for how small these maps are. That or they need to increase the respawn time. The fact that the defending team spawns literally 5 feet from the OBJ is imbalanced to begin with. I’ve gotten a quad kill and went for the objective only to have the same people I just killed come back and kill me before I could even start using it. It’s ridiculous.

Not saying that I don’t agree, because more players WOULD be too chaotic. But the maps are very misleading, actually. They seem small because there are small AREAS. But in a whole, the maps are actually decently sized.
